To be fair to them, the major fumbles started after it became obvious that the opposition hadn't bothered to turn up for the afternoon and I suspect our boys had their brains turned off.

I hate games like that. Would much rather we win by 20 pts against a team at least having a dip (like Essendon) than against today's bunch of pretenders. Yes, they had key players out and it would always have been tough for them to win. But they could have at least tried to pretend it was a contest.

Hardly any negatives from us. Injuries i guess but i still haven't seen the full report. Let's hope all players got away unscathed.

Whislt I must fuss up and say that I was included in the mexican wave, I did also clap Nigel off the ground at the appropriate time, as did most of the people in my area.

It was something to fill in the time that was required to get an injured player off the field.

Damn you have to be extremely critical to find any real negatives from THAT game. Even LRT embarrassed his most ardent critics with a virtually flawless display. Even kicked a couple of passes laces-out!

My negative was not showing the boys singing Cheer, Cheer after the game. I don't know if it was shown on TV but it wasn't at the ground. Bugger all apart from that

Agreed. I thought the same. First I heard cheering and thought surely they're not cheering the injury. Then I saw the wave.

1) Davis Point in first qtr (So it was on his left, it put a blemish on the scorecard.)

2) ROK Point in 2nd qtr (easy shot, first actual point, blemish on scorecard and it was started a flood of yips)

3) Ablett kick for goal hit post. (the ump shoulda called play on, he would've done better)

4) I no longer get to pick on LRT.

5) I wish it had been a 100 point win.

6) Nothing more really.

My form was the same as yours Rod, joining in the wave is something I couldn't resist as I had never seen it at a footy match before.
However, being on the other side of the ground diagonally - about 150 metres away and looking at what I could see on the big screen, there was no sign of the injury being as serious as I found out it was when I got home.
Nigel Lappin is one of the top players of the modern game and it is sad to see him suffer an injury like that and, like you, I did clap the stretcher off as well.

No sympathy for Akermanis and Johnson though - whinging bitches that they are.
Nor Chris Scott, that was a dirty act from a sore loser.

Don't mind Charlie - he's sour even when we win as well as we did today. I too joined in and enjoyed the wave, as did almost everyone at the ground. I also clapped Lapin off the ground. Charlie sitting on his sofa has no idea what the atmosphere was really like at the ground. The wave during the very long stretcher break was the crowd celebrating a tremendous win that all but seals a double chance for Sydney.

(1) Scott's attack on Monty - who's a grumpy old man then?
(2) Channel 9's atrocious camerawork - glitzy closeups when we wanted field position, coverage of the sky when we wanted to see what was happening on the ball, failure to repeat outstanding passages of play, especially a goal that involves four or five people in the space of a few seconds. Gives me the fluid drives. Bring back 7, the sooner the better.

I have to say that Channel 9's coverage today was well below par, particularly their statistics. Some howlers that they perpetuated:

• Bazza kicked seven goals in his last two games. Bzzt, wrong, but thanks for playing. He was held goalless against Adelaide in round 18.
• The Swans' biggest margin against the Brisbane Lions was 163 points in 1993. Wrong on two counts: the Brisbane Lions were formed in 1996, and in 1993 it was the Brisbane Bears beating the Swans by 163 points in 1993.
• They claimed that Bazza had kicked four goals straight at one point, about half a quarter after they had displayed a graphic showing that Bazza had kicked 4.1.

These were just the obvious ones that I picked out. There surely were others that I didn't find.

I would rather see the Swans win a premiership than Baz win the Coleman. Benching Hall after a job well done was a good move, after all it could have been Bazza instead of Lappin breaking his leg in the last ten minutes.
