10 just got the video to roll. Rossy says he has had feedback from the Leadership Group (!!) that they would like to continue the rotation and have one captain for the final series.

That would make it Hally.

If the rotation continued, and the Swans won through to the Grand Final, then the likely captain would've been Ben Mathews. Thank god some sense prevailed and they're going to stick with Barry Hall.

Great decision and I agree with most of the other sentiments that either Barry Hall, Kirky or Goodsey would have done equally well!

I seriously hope that internally they have a better reason for appointing Hall as finals captain.

Can anyone believe that we would appoint a captain for the finals based on pure chance and who was up next in the rotation???

I doubt very much that the decision for next year is anywhere close to being made. I also suspect that it won't be made until January-February.

A good choice IMO. Is the sort of guy who, if he takes the game by the scruff of the neck, can get us to the GF. Plus he's been in awesome form of late.

I tend to agree with Charlie, I think the club are a fair way off deciding on a permanent captain. But it would be a brave man who'd back against Baz for the job if he led us to a premiership!

Tredrea filled in as captain last year, led the team to a premiership, and then tried and failed to get the job full-time.

Fair point. but I think that's a little bit different. Tredrea was a stand-in captain for Primus, who returned this year. The Swans have no regular captain to come back to in '06.

Poor decision not to appoint Treadrea this year. Primus is/was long past his used by date.

Agree. I still prefer Bazza to any other player to be the Swans next captain.
