Have just taken a quick look on Big Footy and basically everyone there except for the Weagles supporters are saying we were robbed.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Just had Roos on the tele. Very much biting his tongue on the frees.

Just shattered. We didn't play all that well but neither did they, I wouldn't say we were clearly outplayed. I really feared during the year that umps were going to cost us tonight, I hadn't really thought about during the week, but it has come to pass.

      Just shattered

This will probably be an unpopular view - and I don't disagree with comments on the Stenglein free in particular - but had Goodes or Tiger nailed a goal early in the final term it would probably have been all-over-red-rover.

They both had pretty good games so I'm hardly blaming them, but those are the little things that make a difference at the end of a game.

        Just so so so frustrating.

Same thing could have been said for the Eagles and some of their misses in the 2nd and 3rd.

It's just so damn frustrating that the result of the game is influenced to such a large extent by a group other than the players.

Sampi gets a slight touch on the jumper in front and gets the free.

Crouch is running in front of his player on the wing and is clearly held for a significant amout of time from running on to the ball. and clearly impeded. How is that not a free? It was so bleeding obvious.

Cousins got one at a centre bounce when he clearly and deliberately put his head forward into the tackle. Kirk gets mauled at every contest and it goes unnoticed.

Very sad - I have never liked the Mclaren - he seems to always be bad luck for us.
I thought the guys played so hard and deserved to win.
I only hope they can come up for next week.
They look very flat and thoroughly exhausted which is understood.
We have to win next week and go on and win against the odds in Melbourne or Adelaide.
It is our damn turn to get the cup not the eagles they have some.
My hope is we meet them in the finals and it is ours.
              Love those Swans

I hated the umpiring too, but I completely agree with Liz. When the game was there to be won we committed 3 absolute crimes. These two misses and LRT's turnover all within about 3 minutes. From that point I had a sick feeling that we had choked.

But I still almost managed to pop a blood vessel in my forehead when Goodes was legged. God.

Look we are clearly not going to EVER get a fair ride from the umpires.

I know its early but we have to put it behind us. We can still make the GF, and god help the Wiggles if they happen to still be there.

I tipped a Sydney v WC GF back after round 12, and I stick by it. Only the second time round, revenge will be super-sweet!

We was roobed. A goodes goal would have been all over ed rover..had the umpire paid the free. He was legged.

The misses hurt and you cop that its footy. But i cannot hack umpires who just ruin a great game.

This just makes me hate those maggots even more

Think i'll drive by AFL house and throw a brick through the window, then a tape of all the INCORRECT decisions of the game. Footage should go well over 5 minutes.

We did not lose because of our mistakes. We were robbed. We played much better than the Eagles. The only reason the Eagles won was simply they got a better run from the umpires. This is precisely what the umpires are paid for NOT doing. The umpires failed their duty today.

I'm actually not suprised because it seems every week the umpires gives the opponants a 2-3 free kick headstart. Especially in the one team towns.

And why would the AFL listen to us ???
Who is going to make those all-powerful, men-in-white accountable ???

The players ??? They get fined
The coaches ??? They get fined

Us ??? Who cares, we're grass roots, we don't count, we're whingers because our team lost. Behind closed doors, McLaren and Co now know what a victory is like ... Don't worry, they won't make Head's mistake ... But dam, and I know that needs an 'n', nobody, and I mean nobody, is going to make the umpires accountable ... That would put a blemish on their profession and the AFL would not get new umpires into the system ... so let's protect the umpires at all cost !!!

The umpires now MUST believe that they are the game ... not the teams. Too many matches are now decided by their incompetence.

And us grass roots supporters ??? Let's just take it as it comes, scream, yell, unfair etc ...

We are playing next week ... nothing changes that ... Let's hope the boys can get up DESPITE the umpiring. Now THAT would show them !!!
