I think he comes out of this pretty well.
It contrasts with a Wayne Carey incident when he marked the ball across the line, was awarded the mark & played on to kick the winning goal. I remember him saying that he knew the decision was crap but he didn't care because they won (same as saying "sucked in") - I remember thinking at the time that it said a lot about what sort of person he is.
