Leo has played fullback all year. It aint gonna change now, epecially with the opportunity to run off Gehrig. B2 will get first go at Riewoldt, especially if Hammill doesn't play I would think.

I would suggest LRT gets to be the loose man, and take Ackland or Goddard if they are put forward.

Most likely he will be asked to cover the area in front of the goal square, to force Gehrig and Reiwoldt wider and further from goal. Any marks they do take have to be at acute angles and 40m+ from goal if we are to keep those two to low scores.

Would love Schauble back in, but if one of Hamill/Kosi don't play, I can't see it being done.

It's absolutely killing me that he's not been given another chance.

Goodes would be ideal as a loose man in defence and getting the touches may help his confidence.

In saying that I can't see St Kilda allowing Goodes to roam free as he'd destroy them (in form he would anyway)

WOuld have thought Bolton is our first choice on Hamill, LRT on Reiwoldt and Leo on Gherig as first options with Crouchy on Milne.

The Reiwoldt match up is the one that concerns me the most - its crucial that the touches he gets are outside 50.

Gherig isn't 100% so that could play into Leo's hands for a change.

As much as I love him, Schauble's senior season was over when he wasn't picked to play on Sav Rocca a few weeks back.

I've said before that Goodes is an option down back.
It's not as though he doing much as a free-wheeling midfielder, he should be given a job--some responsibility.

If Grant goes to tag Goodes with Blake again, send Goodes to Gehrig and LRT to Blake. That'll make a mess of their forward structure.

Goodes is also a Plan B for Riewoldt, after C Bolton.

The idea of playing LRT on Riewoldt again. Ick!

I don't think LRT did such a bad job on Riewoldt earlier in the year. They slaughtered us in the midfield, so Riewoldt was getting a lot of opportunities, and he didn't exactly dominate. He was good in patches but I don't think he killed us.

Please bring him back. His experience would be valuable. This is a dream as I am sure it will not happen.

Thats true, but Reiwoldt was only 75% fit then. Reiwoldt plays outside 50 a fair bit, so even if beats his opponent, it may not translate into goals.

Gehrig is the key to stop. Without Schuable we have no ideal match-up for him. I'm concerned he may not be as injured as is being reported and we get sucked in thinking Barry can run off him all game.

But back to the quoted message. Yes, our midfield needs to win this contest. The rest will fall into place.

the problem is schuable will be short of decent footy, might be a risk playing him IMHO.

He also looked a bit short of a gallop when he played most recently. But he does add some experience.

who else is there that could in theory make the team from outside last weeks 22?

                      vogels for one i guess
