Wet weather could be good for us, if we play smart. It will take Gehrig and Riewoldt's marking prowess out of the play, and I reckon that Hall is better at ground level than either of them. It'll also even up the midfield battle a lot. But only if the Swans learn from past mistakes.

    - Play Schneider and McVeigh in the forward pockets at Mick's feet. McVeigh should replace Williams, assuming he doesn't come up.
    - Keep Bevan in. He's a second option after Crouch for Milne (who will become St K's most deadly forward). Also, wet weather should cover up his MSUs (not to mention Lew's)
    - We probably won't need another tall, which was worrying me.
    - Above all else, look for possessions that win metres. We're not expecting crisp, clean disposal. No silly handballs in defence, and no trying to run the opposition. Long kicks. They don't have to be to a target, as long as they're in the general direction of goal, and not straight down a Saints' throat.
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

I'm no meteorologist but I think "a little rain" is still greater than "a few showers".

I'm worried about the wet after the way we played in last year's Saints final.

What sort of a forecast is that? Sounds like something your great aunt might say. Have they got the Teletubbies running the BOM these days?

My meteorologist friend advised me that a little rain is less than a few showers.

Big if - wet weather will just make our skills significantly worse than their's.

                  Quick weather update:

Noticable today that the wind from the south west has dropped away and despite some dark clouds around it has not looked likely to rain.

Reckon that the rain belts have been held up and that we should get at worst a couple of light showers or at best a crisp clear night.

I think the rain will affect our style of play more than theirs. We flip the ball around a lot to get it away from packs. Greasy conditions aren't going to help with that. Jude and occasionally Ablett are the only ones who throw the ball on the boot to get it moving forward.

BTW remember how well Jude played against the Saints in last year's finals? Best for us by a country mile.

Agree NMW, our drive comes from quick clean handballs or short kicks down back and then waves of runners from HBF. The wet and good pressure from the opposition forwards make that all the more harder.

I would think Bazza is preying for some good weather so the ball comes in quick and well delivered.

Saints will be better suited to wet conditions. They said last night on the news that the ground was in magnificent condition though ; it will take a lot of rain to unsettle it.

Guys, we're forgetting that the rain could be during the day, not the night!

And remember that it's Melbourne, wait 5mins, then see!
