I had to call my mate who is getting married on Saturday to let him know I wouldn't be able to attend. As everyone is saying, unless you're a die-hard fan, you have no idea what it all means.
Enjoy it

Non-footy people. That's the whole thing, unless you're a die-hard, you don't understand how big a deal this is, and while I feel somewhat guilty about missing the wedding, as soon as he told me the date I told him it was GF day...Originally posted by punter257
who gets married on GF day?????
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

A true Aussie loves his footy.
A man had great tickets for the AFL Grand Final.
As he sits down, another man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in
the seat next to him.
"No", he says. "The seat is empty".
This is incredible!" said the man. "Who in their right mind would have a
seat like this for the Grand Final, the biggest sporting event in
Victoria, and not use it?"
He says, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. My wife was supposed
to come with me, but she passed away. This is the first Grand Final we
haven't been to together since we got married."
"Oh ... I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find
someone else, a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the
seat?"
The man shakes his head. "No. They're all at the funeral."
