Very witty ditty though. If you write one about Bensons, be sure to include reference to the young poddy calf that breaks the fence and wanders down the flank at times. He looks delicious, and almost made a head count against Moorebank last year!

Sorry. I had been drinking ! Next time I go on the turps, I will try a Bensons theme.
Always a team or two you like to poke some fun at. The plunderers and Town are a couple that get touchy. All in good fun anyhow, just as you like to fool around with the Jets favourite son, Doormat.

And BeeEmmAre, guarantee you the pies at Monarch are a lot better (and cheaper) than those crap Pork Pies you are sucking into over there.

Just hoping that I wont be able to to tell you what the Magpies song is after this weekend. Hopefully we don't hear it.

I am still searching for the Bankstown song, sung to same tune of South Sydney RL(glory glory) but funnily enough the tune seems totally different with different words. The Last part goes like is:
."....and when it comes September the bombers will be there, when it comes September the Bombers will be there,
We play it hard we play it tough we play it till we fall, we're the greatest team of all"
          Any Bankstown boys out there?????

We are the bombers on the road to victory
If you are a bomber come and sing along with me

The bombers are the ones who wear the green and gold
the are the colours that make us stand and fight (and fight)

And when it comes september the bombers will be there
when it comes September the Bombers will be there

We play it hard we play it tough we play it till we fall
Were the greatest team of all

posted before but I think they sang it the other week: Dockers

Cheer cheer the purple and white, honour the name by day and by night, lift that noble anchor high, shake down the thunder from the sky, whether the odds be great or small, dockers will go in and buy over all, while her loyal sons are marching on to victory.

C'mon all, someone must know the others.
Tara? There's a gap under Moorebank, I'm sure you don't still sing the Bombers' song.
Hawknik? Has yours changed with the jumper and nickname?
I'm certain there are Camden people on here.
Auburn's won nine games, someone must have heard it.
Saints - any different to what we'd expect?
Riverview? Again, someone must have heard it after losing to them.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

Southern Districts (back in the 60's)

Are we good, are we good,
                  Are we any bloody good,
We are the Eagles football team.

You can have all your tigers and pussycats too,
put 'em all together and you've got a pot of stew,

Are we good, are we good,
                  Are we any bloody good,
We are the Eagles football team.

As 10yo's, we used to LOVE hearing this song after a Southern Districts not particularly frequent win. Big Ellis Noack belting it out and of course the 'bloody' often got substituted with the 'f' word which made us snigger and blush....lol
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09

BMR - replace Bombers with Magpies and youve got it.

Triple B I have a few phiotos from Southern Districts, one of them being a team premership photo cica 1949.

Hey BMR, no real change at Mac Uni. Just drop the second verse, which to be honest was never really sung at after a win, but was in the song nonetheless.

                      MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY WARRIORS

                      Out we come
                      Out we come
                      Out we come to play
                      We've gone in hard
                      We've gone in tough
                      We've won the game today
In the air and on the ground
                      We've proved it once again
Macquarie boys are hard to beat
When we come out to play

                      So join in the chorus
And sing it one and all
                      Join in the chorus
                      Macquarie's on the ball
                      Good old Macquarie
                      Another victory
                      Macquarie will be premiers
                      The best you'll ever see

A true story ... this was the Auburn Redlegs theme song in the 1980s ... quite clearly not appropriate in this day & age:

                        We root cats
                        We root dogs
                        We root anything
                        But w@gs!

We are the boys from Auburn Town

                        We are red
                        Blue & White
                        We are f&%$ing
                        Dynamite

We are the boys from Auburn Town!
See me run a marathon again as a leprechaun?

Think we'll sing that at RGs next time we get a win. Fingers crossed its this week.

                            UNSW-ES songs

BeeEmmAre has nailed the UNSW-ES songs.

The first is the old East Sydney song and the second, the Uni's.

The UNSW-ES thirds and fourths sing both in homage to the entities that merged in 2000.

                            Cheers,
                            Gull.

Read with interest the write up on Moorebank's page in this week's record, about the right to sing your club song after a win. What prompted that Tara?
When we beat UTS down there towards the end of last year, we sung our song nice and loud (had been a few years since we'd sung it on Trumper) as I walked through the fence I saw my old mate Thainy so stopped for a chat.
With his typical disgusted look on his face, like he'd just eaten a lemon, he asked "Why would you sing your song on our ground?" I informed him we'd just won, and for the 1st time in a long time on the ground, and he responded with "That's not how we do it in Adelaide, we sing it in the sheds". After pointing out the Sydney city skyline to him, I responded with "You're not in Adelaide anymore mate" which made his face look even stranger. Was it a repeat of this in your case?

We were told (by a few people with their heads firmly up their arses) to show some them respect given that we had only beaten their third grade - I have to wonder whether the Saints who won div 4 got the same treatment. It amazes me the lack of respect that some of them are prepared to show the lower divisions given where they came from.
