    Tips for the Phelan Medal...

    Ladies and Gents,

It is a little far out I know, but nothing like a bit of banter to fire us up on here.

Let the tips from all the 'experts' for the Phelan Medal begin.... and no, you cannot vote for the Rooster, Rooster.

Personally, I cannot see Nick 'Nobby' O'Brien (UNSWES Bulldogs) being beaten for the prize.

Other outsiders from Easts who would have a shot include Mark Parmenter (if he was still playing) and Brad Abbott (if he moved out of the goal square and could let go of the walking frame). David Coupe would have been a red hot certainty for the prize this year but unfortunately of all the Pech's at the football club, we had to lose David's.

Anyway, look forward to hearing all of your tips...

On a side note, I have certainly been quiet on this forum for a number of months now.

For those of those of you were nt aware, this has been a result of the severe depression I have suffered over the course of the season due to a direct result of Peter Kefalas' form.

I have certainly realised that there is a big difference between potential and reality. It really is 60% mental and the majority physical, like Peter would say.

    Cheers,

    Hearty.

Hearty although your comments are always very accurate and incisive, I must question you on your selection of Nick O?Brien as a Phelan Medalist. Although I think he has been one of the main reasons for Easts turning it around this year, the best blokes don't always poll votes. From your club I?d say the old man in number 34 may again be a chance of covering himself in glory. For mine I couldn?t go past Declan Donahue (St George) or Jon Vlatko (ECE). If I could get over $15 with bookie for Alex Lee (Uni) I?d be all over it. I hope for your sake the great PK overcomes his form slump and makes a late dash at the medal!!

Alex lee my guess ..from results that i have seen but unless your Troy luff its hard to get votes in losing games which might go against him in second half of the year same possibly with leesy. Quinella Alex Lee and Declan.

BeeEmmAre's Player of the Year system has Declan Donohue as a runaway leader, and it's been a reliable predictor in the past.
On the season so far, I would tip Donohue to be narrowly leading over Jon Vlatko. Max Collett is listed among UNSW-ES's best players nearly every week, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was up there with the leaders.
