I have to admit I cant help but wonder what Mug Punters agenda is? He keeps pumping the expansion and divisionalisation of Sydney footy yet I wonder how much he appreciates the difficulties each club really faces.

And is it a bit suspicous that "alwaysnextyear" and "Mug Punter" both joined in November to pump up Mac Uni - not that same person are you both! You are not both that "be4eyb" wimp who made 1 post in October and then disappeared.
Not at all no idea who the mugpunter is i am just a person who has joined and has a close ear to the ground on sydney footy anyhow been around for a while just thought id join on in
There is some really good stuff on these site but some real crap as well and as for mac uni they seem to just keep ticking along

Who cares where you're from - it's all about saying constructive things. I have played with 5 Sydney clubs since 1995 but won't show bias to any of them.

Criticism can also be constructive by the way.

Think you are reading too much into my posts. No agenda and sorry if it comes across that way, just a genuine interest in the game in Sydney and I will have my oipinions like anyone else.

I have a pretty good understanding of the difficulties facing Sydney clubs thanks very much so no need for the high and mighty tone of your posts. Surely you don't think the current level and spread of senior footy in Sydney is high enough for this football culture that will be supporting two AFL sides, AFL Centres of Excellence etc etc? What is the point when there aren't enough senior clubs to take the flood of juniors?

All I am saying is that AFL needs to expand at the senior level in Sydney and if you can't see that you are an idiot - one team due west of Parramatta, what a joke given that this is the target market of Team GWS. Surely this needs to be part of the AFL's investment here as well as ensuring that the existing clubs who have battled for years to survive get support too.

                High and Mighty?

For what it is worth I have been playing/coaching the said region for 20 years. I have stayed entirely that time at one club - Initially Bankstown then SWS. If you think Western Syd can suddenly support more teams then you are the fool - the overall competition is heading in the right direction but considering where it was when I started playing in 92 it has a long way to go.

And yes I still query what your agenda is given that your posts on the other boards here suggest you think GWS is doomed.

Lets get back on track with this topic - any more movements of coaches and players???

Heard a whisper there is going to be a bit of an exodus at Uni/East?

Is the current coach going to be re-appointed?

We have had a discussion with a couple of the senior/fringe players and they are keen to explore their options.

The travel factor is the only deterrant at the moment. Appears they are over waiting to see who is leading the club and they are aware a few guys are jumping ship

Are you chasing any Dockers players? It looks like there are only 8 left to chase if you're using their 2009 roster as a guide!

                              Funny.

Seriously, if David Cheesecake has the money he says he has, splash it around and buy some good players from interstate and other Sydney AFL clubs. That'll get the ball rolling and those players will attract other players.

                              WINNING IS INFECTIOUS!
