Just been studying the Div 4 table, and it is a close one. 4th spot will require 12 wins.

Very tough ask for you to make the cut now, looking at your remaining 4 and %, but I'm sure you'll tell me anything's possible.
Penrith will have an uphill battle because of their percentage too and must win next Sat against Moorbank to stay in the hunt. Leaving UTS who might have left it too late, but are still in with a chance with their last 4 remaining games against lower teams.

Moorbank and Maroubra should play off for 2nd & 3rd position in the last game, but with both teams having a tough run in their last few games both can still finish 5th & 6th.
Interestingly, it is very possible in Div 4 to have Moorebank, Maroubra, Macquarie, Penrith, UTS, all finish the season tied 2nd-6th with the 12 wins.

..the writing's on the wall already for Auburn to suffer a shock loss in the granny. By a point. After the siren.

Yeah, it's a funny old game when you can win 12 games for the year and run 2 places out of the finals. Look at the Challenge Cup where you only have to win 6 games to be assured of playing finals. I am surprised that Penrith is still in touch with their reserves. Their ninth win of the season equals the best record for 28 years in that grade.

And I don't know the wall that the writing is supposed to be on for Auburn. Losing by a point. Dream on. They will win by 15 goals.

Just one of those games Ken, we were within 2 kicks at one stage. Poor discipline by the boys gave MS about 6 50m that put them in their forward 50. Things like running through the mark and back chat, just foolish things for senior footballers to do.
Anything is possible, but we had budgeted for a loss to Auburn providing we could knock off MS on the weekend, but not to be. I think Penriff could beat Moorebank in twos, they were a decent team but we were just lazy, didn't want it as much as they did, so they deserved to win.
We will forever rue the road trips to Manly then Nulla with limited numbers, that was a season defining fortnight, and our % reflects that.

No doubt your right. However here are a couple of results I noticed from this year..

08/05/10 (Sat) 10:00 Mona Park 9.7-61 AUBURN vs UTS 9.4-58
          20/06/10 (Sun) 12:00 Village Green 10.5-65 UNSW/ES vs AUBURN 12.13-85
...and Macquarie put 12 goals on them at the weekend, the most they've let in all year, so they're more than beatable. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they won every game bar the important one.

Where are the Div 4 finals on? I might have to stumble down for the grand final.

Need to do a Terry Lamb/Ellery Hanley to their full-forward to have a show.

Not that I'm advocating violence towards a Kassem on Grand Final day!!

Pete that 50m for running through the mark was on the wing and barely took him to the fifity, remember we we standing side by side at the time having a chat but those 50s must have been there because your own brother that awarded them. Does anyone talk to disco anymore?

They come off bleating "Your brother is hopeless" but to be honest, he'd be the fairest club umpire going around, calls it as he sees it, doesn't lean towards his team no matter how hard it might be not to. Not like Mark from Penriff, he has zero integrity I think, misses the most blatant frees from his boys. not an easy job, as those of us who have done it would know. My boys just need to shut their mouths, no more no less.

Bit harsh mate, Piggy cops it regularly from our guys for being too fair in the face of all the other cheats!!

I guess it's all in the eye of the beerholder.....he does let a fair bit go though which I think comes from making his living as a full forward who used to shove blokes in the back and call it good body work.

An absolute load of crap re Mark. Like all umpires, he doesn't like to be abused. Our blokes know that, as he pinged them often till they learnt. Other teams just keep going on and on. Anyhow, how many times have you seen him umpire this year?
Hate throwing back the dirt, but a father/son combo over your way have been the worst I have ever come across

Pekay has obvisouly been spending a lot of time fishing since blowing his knee out and he just reeled you in effortlessly.

Might be an idea to get some dettol for that hook in your mouth.

Regardless, when he lets John Barry run around being a cheap shot merchant all day without pulling him up, it does little for his cred. And who are you talking about? The last father/son combo besides Rod and Aaron Bayne, who are playing now, as are Les and Josh cass, would be the Hibbins'. and he doesn't club umpire. The ones you may be speaking of would be the Sharpe's, who were actually official umpires, not club umpires, when they umpired.

Yes, official umpires are sometimes more biased than club when they umpire a team they have strong ties with

And Barry must have learnt his cheap shot tactics from his former club. When do you allege he did these dreadful things that horrify you so much?

I thought Disco went alright on the weekend. Both club umps did a good job in what was a very tough encounter with a lot at stake.

So you accuse someone who is putting in the effort to do club umpiring of having no integrity just to bait other posters here? Is that your level of posting?

I've seen plenty of club umpires over the years. Few, if any, would be free of a degree of bias towards their own club at times. I wouldn't say that equates to no integrity though - would you agree?
