Please don't try and brush it aside like it's no big deal. The club was way over represented in the violence dept.
Obviously you don't mind lining up with thugs as long as they're directing their violence towards the opposition and think it's fine for them to continue a culture of king hitting and attacking others when there's no need.
If that's what they and you are in to then join the local boxing club, simple. If they were part of a boxing club then maybe I'd consider them a "good news story" as you call it. But it's a footy code, not a boxing code.

The day I read they've offically folded, will be my 'good news story' of the day.

My understanding was that AFL wanted the code, and ALL of it's clubs, to be inclusive, not the opposite.

There are plenty of "multi cultural" clubs around, but it appears that this is where this club fails ... I'm not talking about "ethnic culture", but a culture of intolerance and violence, which whilst acceptable in rugby league and soccer, has been the AFL's highly vaunted point of difference, under their "Zero Tolerance" policy.

Any other club that had provided the AFL with so much work at the judiciary would have had their winding up notice long ago.

This 'top shelf bloke' is responsible for the most appalling behaviour I have witnessed on the field in 24 years of senior footy. Went absolutely hay-wire when he was player-coach for Wests Premier div side versus Bulldogs in 2006(ish), continuously striking the Bulldogs ruckman to the face and head who was back tracking with hands held up in a submissive jesture. Then he started throwing punches at anyone trying to intervene. When he eventually left the field, he stood on the side line for the remainder of the game, yelling threats and abuse at the ruckman. At the end of the game he had still not calmed down and waited outside the Dogs' change room taunting him to come out so he could bash him. Absolutely disgraceful.

This is the same "top bloke" who, with is brothers, followed one of our players off the field after we had beaten them and said that they would knife him if they saw him out at night in Parramatta

I think this thread will serve more value if we discuss the current issues with the Auburn club and whether they can continue next season. If it becomes nothing more than an outlet for recalling old grievances against a few individuals currently associated with the club, I'll have to lock the thread.

I think you should lock it, it's becoming quite unpleasant.

I don't think people here can discuss Auburn objectively from what I have seen.
