    2013... rumours.. signings... something..

Thought might as well start something, been dead quiet for a bit, not doubt clubs will be preparing for silly season and pre season with some clubs. Keen to hear rumours, signings, new coaches??

It's a bit quiet at the moment. Doesn't seem to even be much movement in the coaching merry-go-round.

As usual for me, I WANT to be relevant but I haven't much to add.
It looked as if Tuggeranong was going to be kicked out of the NEAFL, and that there would be a mad scramble between two of our SFL clubs to grab their spot. But Tuggeranong has been thrown a lifeline for 2013 so it was all a non-event.
I heard from two unrelated sources that Marc Dragicevic might appear somewhere in Sydney next year...wouldn't mind a lazy fiver on that.
And it was reported in the Canberra Times that Amon Buchanan is back in town and looking to make his presence felt, but I have heard nothing else about that.
There are a few Old Swans (and an Old Cat) with minor coaching roles in Sydney footy (I'm thinking of Saddington, Kennelly, Jarred Moore, O'Loughlin, Brad Ottens) and I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them step up to the plate in 2013. But that's my hunch and not a rumour.

I see Kevin Eynaud is having a second stint as Wests coach.

Roger Moten won't be coaching at Sydney Uni in 2013 - couldn't say how far along the club is in the quest to find a new coach though unfortunately.

That's a loss for Sydney Uni. They've still got to appoint a Premier Division coach as well as looking for a new NEAFL coach.

Some clubs never do learn do they?

                  Wow...don't hold back MP.

Just read about the grants for Blacktown and Balmain. Wonder how a club that has reportedly wasted so much money on ridiculous player payments became eligible to secure Government money...

In every game there is going to be a cross-road, and when you get to that cross-road you either step up, or you step down!

The rumour is Daniel Gilmore will be the coach. Is this true?

Team nominations are due tomorrow. I guess we'll find out soon enough whether they're nominating to field a team next season.

Not to my knowledge - he's running the High Performance Program at the moment and going well with that. He will likely have an increased role on game day given his familiarity with the group but I'm not sure he has any designs on the top job. I could be wrong though!

We hear Blacktown are entering an additional team and
                          Maroubra announced a womens team.
                          Any other new teams expected?

Camden are pushing for an 18's team, but have yet to be given the nod by the league.

Have already had 23 kids to training and its only November.

I'm thinking that your comment refers to Balmain...
They're a mystery aren't they ? I can go back to their premiership years of 1998-9 (I think) when we all wondered where the money was coming from...how often can you sell a Sports Club and take the cash ? Since then they have looked like a basket case year after year, with the distinct whiff of 'dodgy' about them BUT, hey, to their credit, they have continued to turn up each year. No premierships but they've been there.
And now, as you say, despite the rumours about their profligate spending, they eke out $2.5k from a government pulling austerity measures.
                              How does that happen ?
Look at their website and it's all Melbourne Cup, junior trips to WA, christmas drinkies, news from Fremantle, but nothing substantial.Seems it's been like that for a long time.
But they keep on turning up and I give them credit for doing that.
