Come on, don't jump the gun. Clearances open in just over 2 hours.

Traditionally, East Coast wait till the last week of March, but make mad phone call to any departee's, promising the world. Mac Uni usually fill the first two pages with transfers to Blacktown, Balmain score a couple of WA players, UTS sign up Garden Island, Campbelltown throw in a few inwards that never play with them and have many more departing. North Shore lose a few to Manly. Wollongong get a few Under 18's moving up from the juniors whilst the Dogs score a clutch from country Vic/SA whilst Wests remain quiet. The pathway bunfight will continue.
Pie prices remain unchanged at Monarch

Tom Harley would be a better fit for Camden I reckon seeing as he's trying to get the macarthur giants running

I'm sure you have your list prepared for when the Giants/AFL call offering assistance to clubs in their region Tara.

Because they'd never indulge in picking winners would they.........

GWS obvisouly dont know we exist hence the reason they have created an under 18's pathway called the Macarthur Giants to provide an opportunity for kids in South West Sydney to continue to play football.

Tell them that Warwick Farm is a suburb of Canberra, just north of Belconnen.

GWS will be all over you.

The fixtures were released this evening. They're on the Sydney AFL website, and on some clubs' websites.

Manly have a tough initiation into Premier Division - they've got Balmain at Henson first up. The other round 1 fixtures for Premier Division see Sydney Hills host Sydney Uni, St George return to Olds Park to play UNSW-ES, UTS play Illawarra at Trumper, Wests at home to Campbelltown and Pennant Hills to play North Shore in a twilight game at Mike Kenny.

...............The AFL badly needs a vibrant junior presence in western Sydney - there's no point in the GWS being there without it. Campbelltown and Camden have not really set the western Sydney world on fire, so the BlacktownMagic/MacarthurGiants/GWS strategy is worked out. Complete with Giants colours indeed, and no doubt with the bottomless pit of money, brains and resources that the AFL & GWS have at their disposal.
And an AFL inside-operative to pull all the levers from the control box.
Campbelltown and Camden are given the option to be "in" or "out" and, after thinking about it for a micro-second, they realise that they are headed for oblivion and irrelevance if they don't sign up.

Mountainsofpain....they might tell the AFL to get stuffed, and, oh wow, I can almost hear the AFL saying, "......bring it on......." !

If Campbelltown and Camden pull the pin or squabble with each other, then PLAN B kicks in with the BlacktownMacarthurGWSMagicGiants having teams and an infrastructure to get AFL rocking in western Sydney.
Meanwhile Campbelltown and Camden go play somewhere else.....no, wait, there's nowhere else for them to play !!!!!!!!

                      Make sense ?
                      So,
the deed is done. The AFL has set up their team, to be coached by an AFL trained, AFL screened, AFL approved apparatchik. Campbelltown and Camden can go with it if they want, or they can go play somewhere else.
Some will be lost to AFL altogether but the opportunists will swallow their pride and see that this is the way of the future. Some will be p**ed off and tell the AFL to go shove it, but the AFL will cherrypick the positive-thinking people and make them welcome.
A lot of existing old-and-bolds will drift away as the AFL won't be wanting old animosities, traditional grudges, old-school ways - better to start with a clean slate. Ya can't make an omelette without beating some eggs.

And, as someone pointed out earlier, if the whole thing starts to shake a bit, there will be plenty of backup resources on hand.
Like everything to do with GWS, it WILL EVENTUALLY work, and money and resources (unlimited) will be thrown at it til it is successful.

It's the AFL way at all levels ... you will be told what will work best for you, and generally by apparatchiks ( ) who don't even know how to get to your club house (and freely admit it).

Anyone who disagrees with the "company line" will be cajoled and lied to. If that doesn't placate them, then the next step is to generally make it untenable for the recalcitrants, and they will eventually give up and move on.

Not to worry, there is always someone to fill the gap, and when the bright eyed bushy tailed newbies come in, they will be docile servants (at least for a while), since they don't know any other way, other than the AFL way.

Unfortunately, in due course, they will see that there are better ways, and then, identified as free thinking trouble makers, they too will be ostracised, and eventually moved along.

... and so the cycle of maintaining AFL's position as a minor code in Sydney, will continue for ever more!

Word is, that approach may be receiving some serious review in coming months as some of the outcomes are broadcast, and more closely scrutinised ... watch this space ...

Well done GWS in getting another local.

Or are Denmark having trouble getting a team together.

I suggest getting together with Norway and Sweden.

                          The Scandanavian Giants.

Please forward all coaching applicants to Coach - Blacktown Magic !

The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have offered an international scholarship to young Danish AFL player Aksel Bang.

Another total embarassment for the experimental team. they really have no idea how to engage the Western Sydney community. Next they will be signing Shinji Ono.

The destination club for juniors in south-west Sydney.......

                                What about Moorebank?

It seems that those who are perceived to be able to look after themselves are left to their own devices.
