I'm surprised that there is enough money washing around to pay Under 19s - surely most U19 teams are only viable because of the subs that the players stump up. There's a real imbalance if some clubs can afford to pay out to get players, rather than charge them to play.

How delusional are the parents shopping around?

If the kid was a genuine talent he'd be too busy playing RAMS and playing in the Swans or Giants reserves

Goannas dropped back their Div 4 to Div 5 despite making the prelim?

Disregard, it appears that team has gone up.

I see Lloyd Perris will be playing NEAFL for Sydney Uni - from a post earlier in this thread I thought he was going to go back to St George in Premier Div?

Can't believe it will be anyone other than the Sydney AFL, I mean Blacktown, I mean "Western" Magic. Clearly this was the plan since day 1.

Back for the threepeat in Div 4 again.
They won the div 4 flag then the "tainted "Div 5 flag by a mile so they should be in Div three whet they should have been last season.
Crazy that Div 3 has only 9 teams this year . And Uts are in Div 4 again.
How is this allowed to happen ?

Why's it crazy Div 3 only has 9 teams?- with 2 new team nominations.
UTS would struggle to compete in Div 4 on a week-to-week basis. Agree there could be some greater tightening but there should be incentive for a club to grow in numbers to the point of a UTS. No benefit to the game having a club sitting on 50 club members with no increase in numbers year-on-year.

All in all, great to see 9 new team nominations, including 3 in the women's comp- they are riding the trade winds at the moment.

Are you serious. They won div 4 in 2014 dropped that team to div 5 and won that comp. Yes we all know the BS they spun about not having enough players to be competitive yet some how they managed to play regular scratch matches for those missing out each week. The AFL were taken for a ride when they allowed them to drop their div 2 team ahead of the lowest team they fielded.

Let's look at this from a growth perspective; UTS have added 2 new teams to the League and Moorebank have added none. For this they should be applauded rather than derided. And add to that, whenever you add numbers to a club and 2 teams in this case, it is harder to be competitive/field teams each week etc. I don't think they will clean sweep the season.

There are 9 teams in Div 3 and 11 teams in Div 4. Therefore a bye each week in both divisions.
Surely the next best team in Div 4 would be competitive moving up.
Common sense really. One of the benefits of divisionalisation is being able to easily tweak competitions to avoid this crap and make it better for everyone.
Teams should be proud to be asked to move up a division. It ought to be their goal. They should be complaining if they don't.
But no......lower division silverware is on offer...I forgot.

4 +1 equalled 5. When I went to school anyhow.
