Ok they used the outdated finals qualification rules to their advantage because they can, but still it's unusual for a threepete premier to not ever get promoted
    That's odd.
+1. Very odd. For anyone else, you win you go up. For UTS, you win 3 times in a row you stay.

What I've heard during the season was that the boys in their D4 team could very well play in the D2 team but prefer not to / don't want to train leaving UTS with a below average D2 side. I guess they prefer winning D4 premierships then challenging themselves by moving up to D3

When we beat them with a goal after the siren in round 15 we had 12 blokes who had played prems and only 3 guys in their first year (everyone else ex div 1). Granted, some guys like Rodney Craig and Shane Demir hadn't played prems in a while, but it was a very good team we put out that day.

Wheres Luke Shannon? Surely he can set the record straight.

UTS finished 5th on the table in regular season and only made the finals on percentage just ahead of you guys.........

Indeed. But some weeks we had 12 ex prems players, others we had 2. We had close to a full strength team that day and only just rolled them. Our loses v Camden, North shore and Mac uni were with much weaker sides and we beat Sydney Uni by a few goals with a weaker side.

Honestly, that side we put out that day was way better than anything I played in back in div 2 days. Only beating them after the siren (kicking 9.17 didnt help) was fairly surprising and everyone said they will go on to win it from 5th. Granted Camden, uni's and norths could have had weaker sides v us but everyone thought they would win it from 5th.

One thing I noticed about both prem GFers. They looked old.

                    Missing the point H.
You have won three premierships in a row with no promotion from that division . Yet you still request to stay in the same division for 2017 and it looks like you will probably get your way again.
A lot of people dont think it's fair .

I thought we had established that the movements weren't finalised for another 2 months.

My point was related to a comment that was made regarding the strength of the Div 2 side. nothing more.

Merry Christmas to local footy fans in Sydney.

If you have some time give us all update on your thoughts for next year. A bit of footy reading is better than that @@@@ty book given you to read over Christmas. I am re-posting my thoughts on 2017.

                          1. Baulko ? losing few, but will gain a couple due to $ - should be top 3
                          2. St George ? another strong year ? this could be their year ? my favorite for the Premiership
                          3. North Shore ? could be Sydney AFL flag favorites, an amazing turnaround in the last 5 years - also hearing the North Shore $ is starting to flow.
                          4. UTS ? who knows?, but always competitive. Based on who moves to Sydney from SA or the Amo?s could be 6th to Prems
                          5. Penno ? could be on the slide
                          6. Manly ? outstanding coach appointment, but will players follow
                          7. Wests ? hearing lots of good things from Picken the Smokey this year
                          8. UNSW ?great coach, and if there young players come on who knows.
                          9. Sydney Uni ? again who knows, continue to do amazing recruiting for the NEAFL team, and if that depth flows through to Prems could be 9 to 3 ? but that?s about as high as they could go

                          Very exciting for the completion!

                          What are your thoughts.

                            1. Baulko ? Agree top 3, prob still favourites. Even though losing a few word is they have bought others.
                            2. St George ? We should be up there. Another year older for that year group of gutters, jonesy, wynny, X etc. Losing a few, prob gain a couple. Depends what the 19s who aged out want to do though, based on pre season a few should be pushing for seniors
                            3. North Shore ? I reckon would be up there. Despite a 14 goal loss in a prelim, would be one of the best sides going round. Especially if they are buying a few as the chatter suggests.
                            4. UTS ? I don't rate them. Go alright on the smaller grounds but if finals are played at BISP then they need to change their game plan because they don't seem to beat top sides on big fields.
                            5. Penno ? Who knows, could be first, could be near the bottom. Have always beaten us since I've been around and then didn't see prems play them this year.
                            6. Manly ? Good coach, will they have enough cash left over for players? Won't win the comp with last seasons squad.
                            7. Wests ? I don't rate them. Theres guys in their 22 who wouldn't get a start in our div 1. Need some juniors or at least more depth.
                            8. UNSW ? Good juniors, dunno why it doesn't transfer into prems players.
                            9. Sydney Uni ? Could be anything. Sucks versing them on weeks where NEAFL has the bye but prob won't make the 5.
