I think everyone's working their networks looking for players at the moment. Now that it's viable to travel overseas again, the number of AFL Sydney registered players who are out of the country at the moment is mind-blowing.
Nothing wrong with SWS looking for players that way.

In Womens Prems, I would guess that unless Southern Power are getting an influx of gun players, they'll go down to Div 1. Getting lapped every week isn't much fun. The question there is whether St George goes up.
I’d say SWS would definitely want to go to Prems & have made no secret of their aspirations. With the void of not having a South Western team competing in Prems it forces the best talent in the region who come through their pathway to seek opportunities elsewhere. Many rumours circulating that Camden & Parra are seeking promotion but with very little junior talent & no u19’s surely this doesn’t stack up for them.

SWS are the logical choice to go up

Camden have had there chance time to rebuild for couple years
            Parramatta no chance

A radical call but what if SWS, Parra and Camden were all promoted?

That would give 4 or 5 "bottom half" teams so they would regularly get wins or play in competitive games. Would take it to a perfect 12-team competition.

If we looked at it today there would be a top 3, middle 4 and bottom 5. I also think the current bottom of Prems would still be the bottom team in this new 12-team comp.

That is indeed radical that has not been mentioned by those on here before, the largest issue I see with this is moving from a perfect scheduling of getting to play each club twice that I am sure some will kick a stink up on equalisation (just look at the complaints in the AFL and teams getting 2x games against west coast).

Though they don't give a @@@@ about equalisation elsewhere as divisions with an odd number of teams see some scheduled for 3 byes while others have 2, creating a disadvantage based on win rate, irrelevant of any potential wet weather rain outs.

All due respect but that's a horrible spin on it. You wouldn't see that coming from clubs already in Prems, especially half way through the year and be in a competitive position..

                    Apologies the attached didn't work.

Looks that SWS approached a South Coast team for players for this past weekend.

Like to know the conversations and the why around doing that??

I bet you would. Do you need more ideas of how to grow your club? I thought you had tried to copy SWS enough already without any luck????

                        And why are SWS logical?[/QUOTE]

Just looking into this, probably the fact they have all 3 mens teams in finals contention, had both Plats sides make the GF last year & 2 u19's with a logical pathway for sustainability.
                        Not enough for you?

That’s actually funny. You should talk to Prems clubs. A player at NS picked a team of the players going to Europe and it was a pretty good team!!

Why is there so much discussion about teams going up to Premier Division? Two weeks ago the closest game was 51 points. I think that needs to be addressed first before another team goes up to be slaughtered by the top 4. We have 4-5 clubs that I’m sure we would love to see improve and make an even comp before we add another team in. No way a player leaves one of those top 4 sides so all it will be is taking players from lower teams and spreading them thinner.

Yeah by the looks of it you all want $W$ up there and so be it. I wished them luck in their model that they're trying.
But Nuttsy and Tara love coming on here when there is apparently no truth to what's going on but when they're hunting players mid season as reigning premiers and they are suppose to be "the next best thing" and get promoted. It is just hilarious.

Nuttsy - I'll agree, we tried some things similar to you guys. Didn't work, we've reset.
We also played the top 2 teams not long ago and we know where we are at as a club. But we are also trying to think bigger.

HoldingTB - fair point mate, worst thing is HQ don't see that stuff. They just like seeing round numbers and probably wouldn't even know what is happening within each club.

The "Radical Call' from Tom Wills might be the answer so who knows.
