This is a good point - I wonder if we will see Goodes taking more of the ruck work around the ground with "Treacle" Doyle & "One Pace" Jolly resorting to taking centre bounce & playing kick behind play.

I didn't like this new rule. Quite a few times there was a ball up while players were still entangled on the ground under the fall of the ball.

They were quicker than they have been in recent years but not quite so quick as I saw on the weekend.

I think it was the footy show that put a clock on ball-ups in the 70's and the last few years. It took about 20 seconds more in the last few years for the ball-up to happen. That's ok if time off is called, but apart from last years GF that isn't normally the case. I wasted so much time.
I thought Doyle was exceelent (apart from a few obvious blunders) he actually looked like the real deal. I'm expecting big things thins year.
I notice all the knockers didn't mention his mark and goal...about the only time Hay was beaten for the entire day.

Interesting to determine how much of the mark was due to Doyle's good play and how much due to Hay misreading the flight of the ball and easily throwing Doyle into the path of it.
