Most of the damage was done by the Avon Lady, i hope to god he dosent umpire any of our other matches for the season because he is pathetic. Its hard to believe that Llyod gets BOG when 3 of his 8 goals were from free kicks that were soft & heartless. You see Bazza putting in the effort to get those 7 goals he kicked without any assitance from umps.

Avon was the oner who gave the goal after the siren.

I was on the HFF up that end and he was standing about 20-30 metres from the point of impact on my side of the ground. With say the MCG the time it takes to get from the stands to the umpire on the ground could give cause for some dispute. But at the Dome the siren resonates around the ground at the same time and more so when the roof is closed.

Not one person around me thought the kick was before the siren by a long way, including Essendon supporters who were worried it was going to be over turned by another umpire.

So from what I can see only Avon thought it was before the siren. I watched him at the break and he was walking in circles, and going back to other umps, then walking away again, and I suspect was @@@@ing himself that he made the wrong decision.

I hope he ends up in Maffra for the opening round next week in the Gippy League.

Whatever happened on Saturday night can never match the time that the total meltdown which occurred a few years back when they were incorrectly paid a free-kick instead of a Craig Bolton mark only for someone to run through the mark to give them 50.

Conspiracy theory.

Goldspink umpired the game of his life in the GF. We won and wasn't supposed to.

All of a sudden the umpiring whipping boy is no longer the one in the gun.

The Rules Committee and umpires (excluding Goldy) get together to ensure it never happens again. The RC run by Kevin Bartlett who is still smarting from the "Bartlett Rule", decide that the player going for the ball is no longer protected and the late on the scene squib is allowed to infringe in whatever way he likes. The crowd roars "ball" and the Swans get roasted again, because our players funnily enough like to go in hard and get the pill.

Now little Kev was never one to find himself within 50 metres of a pack so it his little way of getting back at the world and Richmond Footy Club. He is always getting his own back on his own club. He loved the open spaces 3 decades ago so we should go back to it. You know, unaccountable football, dont worry about your man stuff so forwards get the easy go, except for BBH and MOL.

They all decide that we are the only side that floods so by kicking out quickly it will stop "our Flood".

Also they are filthy that BBH didn't get rubbed out so umpires have been instructed, or got together and agreed to pay tiggy touchwood frees to all full forwards except Barry Hall and that he was exempt from free kicks by Geishen edict.

It has also been agreed that Sydney is the only side that sits on and drags the ball in so a free must be paid against us at all times.

Also anything that the opposition does outside the rules when playing Sydney should be let go.

NO NO NO I can't agree with that..........he was always within 15 metres of the pack yelling "Give it to me, give it to me..." particularly when it was anywhere near where he could have a shot at goal.

Agree with your whole post except for the word "conspiracy" which implies the plan is "secret". It is not - it is open and everyone knows the aim is to prevent Sydney winning again. None of the powers are trying to hide that fact.

An ump sees Slattery or Monfries (cant recall which) PUNCH Jude in the face - and we know he saw it because he cautioned him - then says play on.

No wonder Jude looked bemused. Punching people in the face is otherwise known as striking.
