Stopped the bleeding in the last 1/4, but game was gone at 3/4 time.
Good to see they fought it out, with all the possession in the last quarter we could have challenged them, but decision making and execution let us down time and time again - basic footy skills.

Chambers must go, doesn't win taps, can't go forward or back, can't kick, doesn't win many possesions.
yeh... Richards is a great find but chambers... far from impressive...
Some people say Football is a matter of life and death - I say it's a lot more important than that!

- Ben Matthews (don't bother bringing him back)
- O'Keefe because he useless to the team unless he can kick
- Paul Chambers - did we get an sort of warranty from Geelong
- J. McVeigh - frankly, he's just not very good.
- O'Laughlin (or is that O'Sooklin - someone tell him to stop lying around on the ground pretending to be hurt whenever he is beaten in a contest. It is embarrasing)
- Schnieder (see comments on O'Keefe)
- Ablett (too slow, too often a spectator)
Players on notice...
- Dempster
- Fosdike
- Williams
- LRT
- Crouch (sending him back would send a powerful signal)
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

On today's efforts many more could join them, but who do we replace them with?
- O'Keefe was there all day
- J. McVeigh - One of the notables in the 37 minutes of football that Sydney played today.
- O'Laughlin - it would be nice if he didn't, but really...
- Schnieder (see comments on O'Keefe)
- Ablett - had the best entrances in 50 all day
- Dempster - did fine
- Fosdike - (see comments on McVeigh)
- LRT - What did he do wrong?
- Crouch - only bad thing he did is show some dedication to the ball which apperently should be penalised in the AFL as of this year!
And thanks for the fly by night post Gary (not that I can comment on that front).
The thing that stood out, especially in the first half was poor decision-making. Kicking it 15 metres to a contest is downright poor, as is handballing to a stationary target. But the bigger problems are lack of clearances, lack of skill and the height factor in defence. Port's midfield was surprisingly effective. Chambers is not a ruckman's bootlace. A bit more footy nous in some of the players wouldn't go astray. Willo almost looks gone.
i think ablett was ok, okeefe not bad and lrt was semi reasonable, the rest were rubbish until the last quarter.
The last quarter gives me hope we should win our next two and then once we are 2 and 2 can refocus for the year. We need to come out and pump the blues and show some ticker.
At the beginning of 05 if u said u can have the flag but play like rubbish all of 06 i would of accepted it, but now we are here it hard to swallow. Im not going to turn on the team, i am confident we can turn it around still and theres signs there in the last term for sure.
Take nothing away from port they killed us no matter what! but i think the umpires are affecting us. Leo Barry in particular if he goes for the contest its a free against him, and he seems to therefore be holding back, hall as well to a lesser extent, theres not much urgency in the play (until its too late). I am not sooking no matter what the umps did we would of lost, port were great, but it is affecting our perfomance, and i think we are copping the worst decisions in the league. Umpires who wear hats should be shot.
To summarise this long boring venting, the signs are still there a bit we have 2 must win games that we should win easy this season can still be great, hopefully this is the kick up the a** the players need, because there needs to be more effort
