Ins and Outs for Round 3

I think we need more speed - sadly lacking on Sunday

As much as I don't like him We have have to give Spriggs a go

    he can certainly run

Eski and Moore must be a chance as well

    Who goes out -

Obviously Willo's fitness, I think Matthews is too slow.

Maybe we can't carry both Schneider and Monty any more

Chambers is a total waste of space and has to go

Move Goodes into the ruck or bring in Doyle/Shaw/Erickson ??

Only thing that would worry me is Goodes in the ruck with a dodgy knee - probably wait for it to heal a bit.

Interesting that we are still basically playing the same team that was so settled going into the finals last year, save for a couple of injuries to the Irishman and Bevo, and the loss of Ball.

So far, I have been less than impressed by Chambers, and I am still undecided about Richards...(he seemed to have quietened the poser after Leo's horrid first quarter against the bummers, but dropping chest marks yesterday gave the hint that we may have picked up another REAL bummer, ala Bomford/Rhino!

For next week, I'd drop Leo, Richards, Willo, Chambers, Jolly, Crouchie, Mathews, B2, and Schneider for starters and bring in eight or nine from the 2s. Give them a feel for it...maybe they'd be hungry enough to have a crack. Moore, Spriggs, Doyle, Grundy, Willoughby, Malceski, even give Kieren Jack and Simon Phillips a run. Let's face it, it would be impossible for anyone to play any more Sheisenhoussen than that lot played yesterday!
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

          That's ridiculous.

Well as the reserves play, most are a long way off being able to cope at senior level. Jack and Phillips can't play anyway, since they're rookies.

Grundy's not ready for senior football yet and all the rest you suggest are relative midgets

To suggest that B2 and Leo deserve to go is daft - their achievements to date earn them more credits in the bank. B2 was pretty good last week, and there is absolutely no-one in the reserves team that could step into their shoes.

Jolly did OK yesterday and while Chambers frustrated, there isn't a fit ruckman ready to step in, with Doyle, Erikson injured, Shaw only just back from injury and rookie Rowe a stick insect.

          .

My mail is that Tadhg is ahead of schedule and could be back this week. Here's hoping.

He wanted to play yesterday, but Roos said no, so he is a real chance of resuming in the next couple of weeks.

                I'd like to see a few changes within the existing senior 22, starting with;
                Schneider to the FP
Crouch and/or Mathews to the BP (depending on matchups)

I was also a little dissapointed that we didn't really try resting Jolly as a tall forward, although I imagine a large part of that is he was getting about 5 minutes rest a quarter from Chambers. I wouldn't even mind throwing Chambers as a tall forward to see if he can at least create some crumbing opportunities.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Well he doesn't exactly look likely to take a mark up there now does he? And if he did, I don't think I've seen him kick a ball, so the odds of kicking a goal could be quite low too. So creating crumbing opportunities might be his only value!

                  I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

That's right, I'm just lookin' for crumbs

Chamber's chances as being a great tall forward are entirely dependent on moving Schneider back to FP and having him ready to crumb.

Crouch looks totally underdone. Needs to be assessed for this week as our performance is more important than his record.

When Mathews plays bad so do we as he is usually a good negator on the opponents best running midfielder (ala P Burgoyne) but was horrid on him yesterday.

Torture Chambers i think we are stuck with as Big Earl is still not entirely ready.

Moore has to come in as he is a genuine ball winner probably for Mathews (don't you get the big impression he is a protected species?)

Finally Eski for McVeigh seems the logical bet. Even though Macca wasn't the worst, he just doesn't add too much atm.

A few years back LRT played ruck against Adelaide and won the rising star nomination (so I hear, I didn't see the game). I know he's been working on half back line, but does anyone see him as a possible ruckman?

I don't really know much about how he played or anything but I figured you guys would probably remember it!

Have we invested too much time/money for him to play a different position now?

We sent a healthy man to an early grave for him, he can stay KP defender for the time being.

Time to bite the bullet and play Goodes as the back up ruckman.

His knees are fine now and with the ruck rule changes its not the risk it once was.

Complacency has set in... time to shock a few of these blokes by dropping them.

Esky, Spriggs, Moore etc would all offer far more hunger to the team right now.
