He was good then. Not really before or since.

He had a pretty good 2003 too - the first time he looked like becoming a consistently good player. Finished 3rd in the B&F.

Yeah, my memory is hazy, but I seem to recall he improve enormously in 2003 then dropped back in 2004 and then improved again in 2005. He's like his own little self-contained Melbourne, play well only in the odd years.

Shame he didn't finish the day off with a great goal, but he that was his best game so far.

He's always displayed good skills, but I'd be wonder whether he's quick enough? I guess time will tell.

I think foot speed is overrated. Recognising where to be and being able to make a rapid and good decision are far more important.

As an extreme example, compare Spriggs with Hird.

Your point is well made, it can like height be over-rated. Certainly I'm not one to argue the case for "athletes" in football.
But I would be more bullish if his excellent foot skills were backed up with either greater footspeed or a stronger physique.
I watch a lot of reserves games but I don't recall much about his ability to get the pill?

There seems to have been push over the past year or so back towards 'footballers' and away from 'athletes'.

I think he suffers a little of the McVeigh syndrome of taking too much time to get rid of it, which can make him look slow (accentuated by his fairly laconic demeanour).

I don't recall him getting it a lot in the reserves, but we'll see how he pans out with decent time in the seniors.

His long kicking really reminds me of Mark Bayes. He's definitely on the rise and yesterday was his best game yet.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

If I get on I want a hefty discount for THAT kick thanks.

Dont reserve a ticket for me just yet ROK.

I might though buy one on the Chambers bus. Should be cheap just now. Liked his last Q ruckwork.

What rubbish, why don't you blame Richards for not kicking a goal at the end of the first or Schneider and Jolly for allowing Davey to mark right in front of the goal square? You can't put it all down to that kick.
