I can see why Brown did so well. Smith is way too small.

Hehe, funny thing is I'd had one or two myself and was so sure that Bowden played for Richmond I actually checked the team lists on the AFL web site before I posted

I saw a pre Lions game interview with Mathews who commented on the good job LRT had done on Brown, particulary in spoiling Browns marking attempts.
Not a bad wrap ..........but no doubt LRT was touched up today by Richo - who always causes us problems. His mobility & recovery found LRT out. Good lesson and as Liz said we had the luxury of leaving him on Richo for the experience.

How was LRT touched up by Richo??? He only booted 2 goals and only had 15 odd touches of which I reckon at least 5 of them were in the second half, when he was nowhere near the goals. I though LRT's spoiling on a couple of the kicks that came in to Richo early on in the game were very good, I thought it was a draw if anything between the two players. I realise that the delivery to Richo was not that good, but LRT can only defend when the ball comes near him.

Its a big mindset change that Roos now gives LRT (our tallest defender) the jobs against the big forwards - Brown and Richo.
Not since Dunkley have we had the ability to cover the gorillas, and by the sounds of it, he's done ok.

Dermie during the triple M broadcast mentioned that the uncontested lead and goal from Richo in the second quarter may have been the result of him giving LRT a backhand smack in the nuts. It wasn't caught on the TV but I was wondering if any of the RWO's at the game saw anything?
