Mitch Cleary reporting Logan only did stationary drills & kicking for goal on his right foot at MCG training this arvo. Only walked around, raising concerns about his left ankle
Considering Mills not selected despite getting through his training run, this isn t a good sign. Hope Logan is ok. Stiff if he were to miss again!
Cleared to play long before selection
I'd suggest after Mills injury not many were striding out for a Captains run.
Hearing Neale couldn't even do a Captains run, severely hampered, talk if him doing a tagging role and Dunks playing attacking MidComment

I am not sure Parker is at all useful for Harris-Andrews. Aliir was far taller than Parker but still manageable. But in the one on one marking contest Parker was outgunned. He got Aliir on the lead and kept him out of the contest. Harris-Andrews will not be drawn by Parker & is 6cm taller than Aliir. No matter what Parker does Harris-Andrews will not be drawn out of the contest because he is too wily for that. I would play McLean on him with instructions to keep him honest & get the ball to ground where the small & mid size forwards can clean up. That would leave Payne on Amartey, which is a match up they won't want because Amartey is going to be far too agile for him. That means Lester will have to play on McDonald, although Horse might send Will to Lester as he is their most dangerous back. He is more dangerous than Zorko because he is also a good tight defender, who is a super interceptor & starts their manic plays with super delivery. It was he who kick started their rebound play last week. Get parker the match up of McKenna. He will destroy him in the marking contest. Isolate Luke in the pockets.Comment

Only Cleary is ahead of Adams.
Ladhams is there as a back up for Grundy or possibly McLean/Amartey getting injured in the warm up. Francis is a backup for Rampe, Melican, McCartin and possibly Blakey getting injured in the warm up.
Lions came back last week from 44 points down vs a fresher opponent, so I will be nervous even if we are leading by four goals at the start of the last quarter!👍 1Comment

Did you see how much pressure the Cats games had? The pressure gauge did not even hit AFL average in the Eagles game. In the Port game not much better. They had an easy run in the H&A season. Made the finals on an early run against bottom & mid ladder sides. The Cats were an average team who over-performed this year. The Lions should have given them a real hiding. But went missing at times. Talk about us not having good starts. They go missing for half a match. Lucky to get away with last week but talent & a couple of surges got them over the line.
Swans would have won that by 6 goalsComment

I'm sure the AFL media will find a way to diminish a victory. I honestly don't understand why they do this- Sydney is the biggest potential market in the country, (Melbourne is AFL saturated) yet they seem to act purposefully to piss us off..
Anyway, I'm going to forget about them- Let's hope for a big win tomorrow with no nail biting finishes, no last minute kicks after the siren, no dodgy free kicks for the win- just a really big decisive win so we can all cheer cheer without having heart palpitations.
C'mon Swannies- bring it home.Comment

Honestly can’t see that fatigue and McInerny being out don’t play a part for the Lions.
We got rolled in 2016 but also went the long way around, got shafted by umps, had unfortunate injuries in the prelim and during the game.
adamant our best gets it done.He ate more cheese, than time allowed👍 2Comment

Cautiously optimistic
Our best has been the best all year
Healthy team, our top end is unrivalled, well rested
They are outside the 4, well travelled, lost a ruck a few others limping.
Im hoping we show up early ans put these blokes awayComment

It is usually a good model, but this year it's been pretty awful."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I watched the entire 'GF Coaches and Captains' press conference on youtube this evening and the questions went in order, to: Chris, Chris, John, Chris, Chris, John, John, Chris, Harris, Dayne, Chris, Harris, John, Harris, Chris, John, Chris, John, Chris, Chris, Chris, Chris, Harris, Dayne.
16 questions to Brisbane (12 to Chris, 4 to Harris), 8 to the Swans (6 to John, 2 to Dayne).
FFS, the Victorian footy media do not hide their ongoing disdain for the Sydney Swans do they?
Much like 2016, I'm sensing a 'fairytale' vibe for the 'Fitzroy' Lions.....and two of the umpires tomorrow, Stevic and Meredith, were part of that stitch up in 2016.
I don't want to be a pessimist and I have every confidence that we can and will win......but the umpiring tomorrow will be interesting and under scrutiny.....by us Swans fans at least.
I hope the yellow scum can just largely put the whistles away and umpire this game as true neutrals. That would be refreshing indeed.Comment
