    * Will Hayward - Possibly part of Curnow package. Wants to stay.
    * James Rowbottom - Another player mooted as part of a Curnow trade. Also suggestions of other clubs. Wants to stay.
    * Jack Buller - Not much apparent progress has been made so far.
    * Jai Serong - Trade depends on other deals being done first.
    Thanks for the link & summary TS.

    I'm getting increasingly uncomfortable hearing these same 3 CONTRACTED Swans continually mentioned, who don't want to leave, as part of any Curnow trade. Worried about the implications to player morale as some have mentioned. It just seems so un Swans like with the values the club has traditionally displayed.

    Alternatively, wondering if we can get creative in a 3 way deal involving either Jy Simpkin, a midfielder who would fit nicely for Carlton or Buku Khamis the WB defender the Blues are chasing.

    Our pick 11 to North, Sympkin to Carlton along with our 2026 1st.

    Our 2 first round picks and Khamis to Carlton, our future 2nd rounder to WB.

    Or maybe even a merger of the 2 making it a 4 way trade deal!

    Glad to hear club is talking tough with Buller, which i hope they carry through with. I dare say, maybe even convince him to stay should the Curnow trade not eventuate.

    I'm assuming MacLean has been guaranteed a role next year, because I thought he'd be the most vulnerable of a starting position next year should we land Curnow. I have Armatey & Logan ahead of him as KPF. Ladhams as the preferred 2nd ruck with the 5 interchange.

      I’ve just seen that Darcy Cameron has won the Pies’ B&F! Of course, Nick Daicos is their best player but still a great achievement for young Darcy. I think he’s been great for them since leaving us- how on earth did we let him go? What were our guys smoking? Mistakes can be made but please don’t tell me his talent suddenly appeared once he went to the Pies. To me this is close to an unforgivable error- no matter how good our ruck position looked at the time!

        It's tough balancing contracted players vs the need to get better. So I understand the want to shake things up.

        I get the reason to be brave and chase something but we can also be a bit brave in our own list and that means playing kids instead of over 30s that arent getting us any better.

        Brissy and the Cats are better thru youth, not thru playing hangers on.

          Cats draft Lawson, Humphries and Mannagh in the same year we draft Green.

          Green yet to play, the other 3 superstars

            You realise Lawson Humphries is one person?

              I think the problem with McLean maybe finding another club that wants him

                  Given 4 teams have two picks each from 1-8 does that devalue significantly our first pick ?

                  that is very difficult to know what u get from pick 9 thru to pick 15

                    IMO our first pick has the same value it always had, ignoring free agency compensation of course.

                    What devalues our first-round pick is not four teams having the first eight picks between them, but the relative lack of depth in this year's draft pool. Sydney's relatively poor record with first-round picks also reduces its value.

                      Rucks take more time to develop. My concern is the possibility that Green ends up becoming a very good player at another club after playing very few games at Sydney.

                      Ex-Sydney players that won best and fairests at other clubs this year:
                      * Adelaide - Jordan Dawson
                      * Carlton - George Hewett
                      * Collingwood - Darcy Cameron

                          They say that about talls in general.
                          Brissy just won a flag with 2 tall Fwds aged 19 and 20.

                          Green is never going to start his career as a main ruck, it will be via a Ruck Fwd, we have had a chance to put him in but havent.

                            He's a solid soldier, but George winning a B&F says more about Carlton than it does about us.

                              According to Tom Morris on SEN, Will Hayward is amenable to a trade to Carlton. (Been tracked down in the wilds of Brazil.)
