Pick swaps are likely to be included.
It would be awesome (though unlikely) if it included a swap of Sydney's pick 10 for Gold Coast's pick 6.
The most likely scenario would be a token swap of picks and a commitment to make a live trade on draft night in case it's needed.
In other news, Max King and Harry Kyle both topped a jump category at the Combine. King jumped 80cm in the vertical jump test, five cm higher than anyone else. Kyle topped the running vertical jump at 95cm."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi final👍 1Comment

Serong would be a very good get. He’d likely play right away as a third tall, can intercept, he’d help in freeing up Blakey and allowing us to start the transition from Rampe.
He’s never going to mind the genuinely big boppers but he’d make for a good addition.Comment

Serong's best work this year (which included his second VFL best and fairest) was done up on a wing as a transition player. Big and strong, brave and an aerial option. Could go back as that interceptor when needed as well.
Good get for us - with our record of smart fringe player pickups, I'd back him to become a player for usComment

He did play 5 games last year. This year he was behind Battle, Barrass, Sicily and Frost, with Scrimshaw and Weddle also able to play 3rd tall. And then Hawtjorn selected Mraz with their first pick in the 2024 draft, so hopefully he can be a Craig Bolton for us. Though he only has to be better than Hamling to be an upgrade.Comment

This Curnow trade worries me a lot given how much we'd need to give up to get a 29yo with injury issues and coming off the back of an ordinary season.
There's at least three academy players we shouldn't let slide to other clubs and in addition the opportunity to add a potentially very good player with pick 11/12
Hope we aren't looking at overpaying IF Carlton are willing to let Curnow leave.Comment

The club has made significant off field changes and hopefully will do similarly onfield as we properly enter the Dean Cox era. Having Rosas & Jai Serong nominate us is not a bad start.
IF we do land Curnow, hope it only involves our 2 first round picks and not having to give up a valuable player, which i include Hayward, even though he does go missing at times. This will need to involve a 3rd club for Carlton to also gain an A grade player they're after.
IF we do lose Hayward in any Curnow trade, it might present an opportunity for Ned Bowman, who appears to be a similar type player who could develop into that hybrid medium forward?
i fear Maclean may become a depth only player, with Ladhams as the preferred 2nd ruck with the 5 man interchange. Even more so if we also land Curnow. Wouldn't surprise me then if he or the club shops him around during the trade period.Comment
