Not as a forward however. They are playing a defensive forward on him who is doing a terrific job.

Need to release him, but it isn't going to solve the forward line problems. Especially given I doubt it is likely that we will see Francis back either, so that's another tall out of the team for the second half.

In other news - reckon Macca is in trouble yet again with that Silvagni incident.... sigh.

A much better effort that quarter - but it is a scrappy old game. Probably our best hope to be honest in turning it into a real grind. Sheldrick doing well (Shocking miskick included ha!) and getting plenty of it, but we need more from some of the other midfielders. Our poor quality disposal however really is hurting us badly.

Oh and SCG Trust/Venues NSW or whoever the hell it is these days. Yes its rained plenty up there, but the field last night next door and the field tonight are dreadful yet again. Not near good enough.

I suppose that quarter was better than the first, in that a few more of disposals actually went to our advantage.

It’s an improvement from last week, I’ll take it.

Scrambling goals by us. They look super organised in defensive structure compared to us. Our defense is atrocious. If we had to fix 2 things in the off season, we had to fix one on one contest and defensive structure and I think we have gone 10 steps backwards.
and as a result of that our offense looks poor too when the game opens up for us.
the slow game is suiting Sheldrick. He won’t be the one getting by so many disposals on a fast deck. I would have dropped Corey Warner rather than florent to the bench.

I can give the cop out to the team however. I think this team now looks like they are broken after 2 grand final losses and a coach change who is new too makes it even harder for them to find rhythm. 10/10 for trying but the swans soul is somewhat lacking.

The challenge with releasing Blakey will be Hamling is actually keeping Weitering out of the game. It’d require Chad or Heeney to play full forward permanently, as you don’t want him roaming around. I think the punt is worth it though.

And unfortunately. I reckon McInerney gets a week for the clip on Silvagni.

i think we’re doing ok around the contest, and our pressure is up, but they look a bit more fluent at times on turnover.

With Francis out, time for Ollie to step up.

Hamling, Tom Mc and Ramps is enough talls for defence, Blakey needs to get involved.

Heeney, Warner, Blakey. If they aren't involved you move them to get involved.

You can't sit on your hands when Blakey has 3 possessions in a half.

Sheldrick is doing more than ok. He’s leading all-comers in metres gained and tackles, and the equal disposal winner. And from my spot midway up the IReilly, that kick to JMac looked completely intentional!

Sheldrick and McInerney have 16 disposals to half time, more than any other player.

Is Sheldrick a wet weather player?

Haha the commentary trying to say it was a 'gift' to Heeney that goal. Yes it shouldn't have been a free and so it was a gift for the opportunity, but it was hardly an easy opportunity.

Does anyone ever check the swans boot stops ?.Last week we were slipping over costing us goals, this week its far worse at our home ground .IN my days we used to change our boot stops according to the state of the ground . Errr I must admit that was at least 55years ago..

The conditions definitely help him I think, but he is working hard. Hope he gets a decent crack of several weeks - I remain circumspect on him, but if he could get 20 or 25 touches each week, it would certainly assist with getting a bit more contested footy as a team consistently.

It certainly didn't look too intentional on replay ha - definitely appeared to be a miskick. But happy for him to claim it was intentional, he is having a good crack

Sheldrick really stepping up - good timing with Mills and Adams on the verge.
