General footy chat Round 1: the other games.

It might be a fun start to the round tonight with Carlton v Richmond. Carlton are firm favourites, but Richmond does have the talent to cause an upset. Which could be amusing. Two games into the season and Carlton fans already baying for the blood of Voss.

Friday night sees Essendon given the prime time slot, after they abused that privilege last season with a string of dud performances.

Saturday sees four games that would have been better use of that slot: Bulldogs v Giants, Cats v Dockers, Swans v Lions, and Magpies v Crows.

On Sunday, the Demons taking on the Saints might be interesting. On the one hand, the Demons look like they're in for a difficult rebuilding season, but on the other hand, like the Tigers, they probably have the young talent to spring and upset.

And in the final match of the round, the Eagles enter, is it year six or seven of a difficult rebuild? Shame.

They were baying for his blood last week, losing by 10+ goals to THE MIGHTY BLOODS after being 22 pts up in the third quarter. Reading the Carlton page on BigFooty was hilarious!!

They're already 3 goals up early in the first quarter, though. Hard to see the Tigers doing what we did last week.

Still plenty of time for the Carlton wheels to fall off. Although that miss by Lynch on the siren didn't help.

McLachlan on Steely Green, "His mum was a massive fan of Steely Dan".
Hmmm, I wonder if he knows that Steely Dan were named after a brand of dildo in a William Burroughs novel?

Haywood just kicked a goal for Carlton. (Florent gave away the free kick that gave Richmond their first goal.)

Carlton 27 points in front, I doubt if they're feeling safe.

That Rioli tackle really should have been a big momentum boost, but Lynch is stinking it up at full forward.

That’s genuinely the post of the year, and whilst I’ve contributed some real potty-mouthed and deranged stuff over the years on here, it’s also possibly the first known dildo reference on RWO. Bravo.

And I thought I was just being a cultural historian.

And rightly so. They're only 5 pts up at the moment.

Lynch has kicked 1 goal 7.

And they'd be behind if Lynch could kick straight. Maybe the Tigers will be able to do it in behinds?

I thought a draw would have been a fair result. Neither team really deserved to win.

Richmond did but you wouldn’t want to stand next to Tom Lynch at a urinal.
