If my sums are correct, that's the largest increase in margin between Q2 and Q3 (+6 to +89 = +86) in the history of the game.

The previous being +74 which has happened twice.

    Round 22 1971: half-time score South Melbourne 5.8.38, North Melbourne 2.3.15 (+23) went to third quarter score 17.12.114 to 2.5.17 (+97).

    Round 22 1982: half-time score Footscray 6.4.40, Essendon 11.4.70 (+30) went to third quarter score 7.6.48 to 24.8.152 (+104).
    Great stats!!

Unfortunately, that wonderful third quarter and subsequent win in 1971 didn't stop us from getting the wooden spoon.

not so great addition, +6 to +89 is of course +83 (red face) - still a record though!

Looks like the loss to Richmond was too much for the Essendon management and Brad Scott is gone. With one win in the last 24 matches, that seemed quite inevitable.

Though I do wonder, if Chris Scott had cut his hair to Brad's shorter style and Brad had put on a wig in Chris's style, and then they spent the last couple of months doing each other's jobs, would the results be much different?

For me anyhow, Brad Scott's sacking seems underwhelming at this point coming right after the sad news of Neale Daniher's passing.

Womder if the club had thought of delaying the decision, as inevitable as it was?

It has been a big 12 hours nevertheless.
