It has worn a bit think after 42 years of it - I think I will change my name to something normal like Debbie or Jenny

Alexandra seems to be everywhere for little girls, at least the children of people I know, and at my son's playgroup/day-care.

There is an advantage to giving your kids unique names.

At least then they are free to be smelly, have a big nose, wingnut ears, webbed fingers etc etc, safe in the knowledge they are more likely to be picked on for their name.

See where you are coming from - but I copped it regardless, I had the wierd name and at age 10 I was 5ft 6inches - so was a giant - eventually to stay the same height and grew out - not up!
(and if anyone wants to add anything to that - I will come around to your house and rip your bloody arms off Aunty Jack style - although I dont have as much facial hair!)

I have a friend at school called Alexander and I go to an all girls school. I also know some people who call her Alextrander. Can't help but feel a little bit sorry for her.

And with names, i've used my chinese name up til year 8 and changed it to an eng name cos i cant stand people pronouncing it incorrectly. Even though i use my eng name Kaylie right now, alot of people say Kylie when they see it. When i have a casual teacher at school, i dont bother to correct them anymore.
