I've played on grounds like that and they bloody hurt! There was one passage where Jude just fell flat on his face on the cricket pitch - OUCH!

The ball also bounce back towards the kick on a couple of occasions which fooled most.

It's a suburban ground, what do you expect. It's one of the worst ground at the moment and players need to learn to adjust. A quality team shouldn't have a problem with that.

Finally got to see the last qr replay just now after spitting the dummy at 3/4 qr time on Sunday.

BBBH & Kirk were superb - brilliant support work from Goodes, Schneider, Bucky, ROK & Ablett. All in all, a tremendous performance. Just a shame about the 1st 3 qrs.

My impressions of the game was that we really struggled with the strong wind and the blustery cold conditions. It reminded me of football in the old days of fairly open stadiums on cold winter afternoons.

Our backs got caught out a few times witn the ball dropping into the wind. You don't see that in modern stadiums very often with all the stands sheltering.

The Kangas played quite well for most of the game and their bigger forwards took some good marks. LRT was out muscled several times and stills needs to beef up a bit more. He is fine when he runs and handballs but his kicking suffered at times under pressure.

I thought Ablett was sensational, hitting the ball and packs hard in and under.

BBBH, O'Keefe, Goodes, Schneider and Bucky were great most of the day. Micky O is struggling with his kicking and tends to try and body is man most of the time.

Not sure where Mathews is heading with his career. Pook kick and slow to respond to decisions is creeping into his game.

B2 was fine accept for the shocking kickin to Davis early on.

I would also develop a policy to blood some of the reserves in case we need them later in the year. Mathews and maybe Richards could have a rotate through the seconds for a few weeks.

Yeah possibly that, and the conditions. Playing at that dung heap on a windy day would be no joy for an inexperienced backman. And lets face it, he is inexperienced, but doing well.
An instrument with only 9 notes! Surely it's easy to play?
