The boy will come good don't get me wrong. He is a skitter. But in saying that, he will need to concentrate on his direct opponent to allow the others to run down the ground.
Originally posted by Chow-Chicker What on earth is the matter with Goodes? Fumbling, not chasing, and giving up the ghost when his opponent has the ball. We can't afford bludging in the team if we are to go all the way again t his year. We need persistency and determination.
If you think something is wrong with Goodes, then the rest of the team isn't any better. IMO Goodes is one of the most persistent players out on the field and if something is wrong with him, then something is wrong with the rest of the players.
My Pokemon brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "Wanna trade cards?"
"Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I can beat you, I've got Charizard!"

I actually think the "other" players are the hard workers. They play close checking, hard at it football. They make their opponents earn a kick. Look, it's an observation of mine that Adam Goodes can play better accountable football. He is a magic player, but doesn't pay his direct opponent any respect whatsoever. And sometimes, the team suffers because of it.

There were those who thought Derek Kickett was a good recruit. They soon realised that Essendon travelled the journey in expectation that he would bring them success. He fell at the last hurdle and we got him a year later. Try and explain what the difference is here with Goodes.

Cow-Licker, a player who can wreak havoc of the kind that Goodes can wreak should not be worried about marking his immediate opponent. I think the technical term is 'headache for opposition coaches'...
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Or a godsend to clever coaches. You see, a smart coach would play an attacking player on Goodes and not a close checking tagger. That attacking player would run where Goodes runs, receive the ball and run off without any fear of being chased. Those useless duds at Essendon did it in the 1st round. Those clowns have not won another game since. We will probably go down as their only win. Mark Bolton ran Goodes a merry dance that night and set up numerous attacks into Lloyd. Everyone blamed Leo Barry, but the amount of easy run throught the midfield Essendon had was ridiculous.
Against St.Kilda, the same thing happened. It's all well and good to be praiseworthy of mazza type play, but we need to be mindfull of set plays and rebounds. It's all too easy to be complacent, and say "she'll be right". But what happens when things turn around and take another shape?

Originally posted by goswannie14 WRONG we all blamed the umpires, not Leo.
Yes we did the rough end of the pineapple, but what I'm getting at was the easy delivery into their forward line. The amount of forward entries was enormous.
There were those who complained that Leo was still dreaming of last year though!

Don't know. Is that whatthey were saying? I would have thought he had his mind more on the job than most but it turned out that he was distracted by the quickness of the play from upfield.
Hope we can switch on this week against those maggots.
