You'd take last year over what?

I'd take it over a soggy piece of mouldy bread too, but it wasn't an option.

Well if we win games against struggling teams without him, why do we need him against Essendon? And the fact that he WAS in the team when we played 4 of the top 5 teams, we didn't win. And the fact is, he performed very poorly in all those games. He's no Messiah.

He's not the messiah, he's just.. etc.
He hasn't been playing his best, but neither has most of the team. Nevertheless, we need his type of player in finals.

Originally posted by Chow-Chicker Gee whiz, great argument!. Now let's see, our losses to current top 8 sides, Melbourne, St.Kilda, Collingwood and Adelaide (all above us on the ladder) all consisted of Nick Davis. Ummm, yeah, he'll help us win!
Melbourne was playing well and went off with a hammy, Adelaide dragged because he was playing poorly, Saints the result was 2 points in a slog in the wet. Hardly conclusive evidence either way. Wouldn't losses against those top sides be also reflective of the fact that the team struggled against the most competitive opposition? I think it's a spurious argument.
