A Grundy, Hall & Doyle/Jolly forward line may well be top heavy for the SCG, but I still reckon it would cause Essendon more headaches than ourselves.

If Davis is not selected, I'd swop Phillips for Fosdike.

Crouch will need at least 2-3 weeks in the magoos before even being considered a chance at the senior side. Needs match fitness.

I think you'll find it was Davis who got us to a flag.

Hence he needs a run in the reserves to gain match fitness...

I'd like to see anyone that's injured for 2-3 weeks return via the reserves.

What's with all the talk of bringing in more midfielders for? Essendon's defence has always been a sticky point for Sydney and on the small confines of the SCG a forward line up of Hall, O'Keefe, Grundy, Magic and Jolly rotated through should give us enough firepower to overcome that. Davis is still unfit so won't be back and why not throw Goodes onto Hird in defence? He had a great first-half against Judd and could exploit Hird's lack of match-time.

                    No change to the 22.

I like the sounds of Goodes on Hird. That would be worth paying to go and see.

If I was Sheedy I'd counter with parking Hird in the goalsquare, just to test Adam's nerve. Mind you LRT v's Lucas will be a big test for our boy, as Lucas was on fire on the weekend.

So was one J. Brown from Brisbane the weeks or two after LRT had given him a towelling up earlier in the year.

Indeed he was but Lucas is a different sort of forward and has had the edge on him so far.

Hird would just run off and do his own thing, while Sheedy would assign someone else to follow Goodes.
