well I reckon Doyle has 5(+) games to save his career - now is as good as anytime to start. no obvious match-ups - or does fletcher go to him (instead of hall)? - this would be more of a warm up for the rest of the season than playing in the twos. also a chance to see how he holds up - (unless he is about to go down again - in anycase this is the game to do it) also a chance to work on a new forward structure for the finals - because the present one needs tweaking!
we need davo and doyle ready to go in the next 4 weeks!!!!

Totally agree. There is no way the Dons would risk playing Fletcher on anyone other than BBBH or MOL. Their only logical option on Doyle would be Kepler Bradley, which would be a win for us, as Bradley kicked 4 last week. The Dons would be one of the few teams in the league we could play confidently play 3 big forwards against. They really lack the pace in the back 6 to quickly hurt us on the rebound.

Essendon have been quite reluctant to use Fletcher on Hall, especially if Hall pushes up the ground. Fletcher seems uncomfortable playing anywhere but in the last line of defence. They've tried a number of smaller opponents against BBBH, including McPhee, Solomon and even our own Teddy once.

If Doyle does play at FF, I reckon Fletcher would relish that matchup. He'd be too agile and his long arms would negate Doyle's height advantage.

So if hall plays CHF I don't think Fletcher will go with him, similarly if Magic goes up the ground Fletcher won't follow. If Roos rotates his forwards like his midfielders, Fletcher will be chasing his tail all day.

What a load of crap Sheedy talks, "He's the best fullback in the league", he might be Essedons best ful back, but the last time I looked there were 15 other fullbacks in the league and a few of them are better than Fletcher, that includes Scarlett.

I do agree that Essendon is the perfect opportunity to give Doyle some game time, especially as a lead in to the Melbourne game.
What does Doyle have going for him?
                            He's not Chambers.
plus given his injury record he wont last past half time.
I think Roos has picked his alternate ruckman , the only thing is what do we do until he leaves Hawthorne

I agree but it seems a bit rough. the Bombers are in form twice in 17 weeks and we play them on boyth occassions.
I must admit that I wll be watching Hird . He is in another league true AFL Royalty.

The difference between the two is that Magic takes phone calls from the coach when dragged. The other doesn't feel the need to really.
