I couldn't agree more, ROK. I had no problem with Davis being dropped, it was the way Roos went about it that irritated me compared to, say, when Ben Matthews was dropped.

      Rubbish.

The "angst" is because the same people say the same things, with the same cute remarks, and the same "what, me?" responses to criticism.

If you go down the list of threads, you can virtually predict how they will unfold by looking at who started the thread.

If it's ROKLobster, it will quickly dissolve into smug remarks and insider chitchat between him and his little gang of sycophants.

If it's SillyCow, it will be full of snide remarks and nasty innuendo.

And if it's started by you, it will begin as really negative and end up with bickering about your "right" to criticise everyone and everything.

Of course everyone has the right to come on here and express opinions, and it's not difficult for me to just ignore all the bollocks. But when it's held out as being somehow intellectual or entertaining (as opposed to the truth: that it's just bloody boring), I can't help laughing out loud.

The same comments get raised because the same issues remain. And yet when they are we get the same people having a hissy fit because criticising the team is not what "true supporters" do.

Oh really? What are all the "really negative" threads I have started?

What about the one on how we were performing better than last year in our forward structure...? No!

Or the one where on the positive side despite a string of losses we can still make the top 4 the same as last year...? No!

Or the link to stories showing we are under the radar and gradually building to finals...? No!

Or a thread on the favourable stats for the team halfway through the season...? No!

Of course everyone has the right to come on here and express opinions, and it's not difficult for me to just ignore all the bollocks. But when it's held out as being somehow intellectual or entertaining (as opposed to the truth: that it's just bloody boring), I can't help laughing out loud.
I'm sorry - I missed your incredibly insightful input on any part of the game. Seems you gave up commenting on football since you asserted that Saddington would prove me wrong and become a fantastic CHB...

I'm going to throw in my $0.02 worth of support for ROK's value. Regardless of whether you find his opinions half-baked or boring (even I got bored with his anti-Kirk crusade), where else are you gonna get such a thorough report on the ressies? Hell, the guy even managed to find an reasonably intelligent post on BigFooty!!

Yes, I agree . . . it was an excellent report. It reminds me of why I got involved with RWO in the first place.
