    Not at all.

This is why I love this site - I correct someone about the arrival time of Members and I'm variously told to PO, smoke more, shut up, stop confusing &&&& with clay, drink pimms, and stay in the area where I pay good money to get seats if I arrive early enough.

Of the above, I am happy to get there early for the seats I paid good money to have the chance to access and smoke more.

The others - especially drinking pimms - just aren't on.

Question - is the Noble now the exclusive domain of Swans members, or is this more of a self-imposed exile by SCG members?

Maybe the solution would be to make the new redeveloped area the members non-reserved area, and sell GA tix in there as well, after all I couldn't imagine too many sporting clubs that have their non seat-allocated (and therefore lowest paying full members) situated in the area with the best facilities, surely they could utilise this area for more corporate and charity freebies they are so fond of, just thinking out loud......
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

I wouldn't dare go to the MAN, you never know who you'd end up near. And you sheep follow along in group delusions like the wave or clapping only when Hatley tells you.
Either this means that he sits in or near the Noble, or those that sit in the Noble have verrrry good eyesight.

Yes, we pay full freight for access to better facilities and good seats - at both the AFL and cricket.

And as someone who gets there early enough to watch the magoos, I can tell you the Ladies Stand where I sit and other members area are full hours before the Swans Members space.

So, particularly, Aussie Ange, don't give me gibberish about Members rocking up five minutes after the game when you see Swans Members rocking in when they feel like it.

Especially when you post you don't want to rock up early next year.

          If I rock up late, I don't get a seat - that's it.

So spare me - and by the way, don't study, it degrades the mind.
Look at your original post - you said you didnt mind offending people with what you have said - well you have. Just dont expect others to sit back and take it - you find Hately annoying, so be it - but dont say the entire crowd follows his lead because they dont.
Please dont have a go about what happens in a stand that you dont sit in so therefore havent been subject to the crap that we have copped from some SCG members. And if you want to pay full freight for your seat to watch the footy or cricket - good luck too you.

For my part - I had a go at you - so for that I apologise, but I dont agree with you - lets leave it at that.

So lets get the thread back on track.

No, it meant exactly what I wrote - which is, that the MAN is full of followers, on the Mexican wave, mass chanting or other inane gestures.

I don't like it so I criticise it.

I am pretty sure it is a self-imposed exile...for me it is Members stand for AFL and MA Noble for Cricket

That whole heritage thing with the SCG is the main problem that it remains such a small, outdated facility.

If all the stands were like the Brewongle and the gound was made even 10m longer then it might be worthy. But as long as the SCG trust mince around spending more effort in enforcing collared shirts than giving a fig about footy, the place will always be the worst ground in the league.

The MGC has more history/heritage than the SCG and look how well it's been upgraded over the years.

Post of the year son! Go to the Gabba or MCG & see the facilities they have there. See how easy it is to get a drink, have a place to drink it, have a place when you can stand & watch the footy if you want to. Then compare them to the SCG, with its 30 minute queues for food & drink, no pass-outs, filthy antiquated toilets and corridors so narrow that when you get a big crowd you can't move at all (under Brewongle).

                  JF

PS:- I cannot believe that people are saying the SCG has any sort of atmosphere at normal non-finals games any more. I have heard crowds of 9000 in the old days make more noise than what we get with 30000 plus these days!

From what I have read you have declared you hate chanting and admitted to sitting near the interchange bench so you can abuse Swans players.

What a dedicated fan you are.

No, I wrote that I abused soft, uncommitted players and I hate follow-the-leader chanting.

                      I also variously:

                      * abuse all umpires
                      * abuse all opposition players (except for Matthew Richardson because his dual personality complex is highly fascinating and makes for a great physchological case study)
                      * abuse toxic substances

Of them all, I'm not sure which is the most enjoyable but I suspect nothing tops analysing the battle between the three voices in Richo's head battling for supremacy on a bad day.

I have been doing this for 15 years. What sort of fan that makes me in your eyes is irrelevant to me, but thanks for your thoughts.

I couldn't agree more. I've said it before, but worth repeating - the facilities at the SCG at the moment are a joke. The biggest joke being the corridor under the Brewongle - with big crowds it verges on an OH&S issue trying to leave the ground!

I went up for the Adelaide game this year and it was my first visit to the SCG for quite a while. (we go up for at least 1 game every year but those have been at TS).

The facilities at the Randwick end of the ground are worse than princes park of 10 years ago! You at least were able to get out in a hurry if you had to!

Wheels, to answer your question the MAN is not the exclusive domain of Swans members. It is an unreserved section for swans members (members reserve) and an overflow for the SCG members who either chose to sit there rather than the Members' stand or the upper stand of the Ladies' stand or for those SCG members who can't get in to either of those stands as they didn't get there early enough .
Swans members can get 2 Member's guest passes to bring guests too. I'm not 100% sure but I think SCG members can bring guests too.
This is why it gets a bit busy. FWIW I don't have a problem with the SCG members coming along to games but I can't imagine that they'd turn up 5 minutes before (or even after) the first over has started during a test match and expect to get a decent seat.

BTW the Members reserve memberships aren't the cheapest ones available a colleague has a reserved seat membership and she pays less than me and also doesn't have GF preference (for which we obviously pay a bit more).
                              Bring it on!

The AFL has the right to put ANY game ANYwhere it likes. Unless the AFL has a contract with TS or the SCG. The AFL's contracts override all club contracts. Just like Hawthorn can have a contract with Tassie, but they still have to ask the AFL to honour it!

I don't wanna play @ Homebush unless we get 60,000+ to EVERY game, AND there is little or no League crap played their wrecking our ground. And remember - they like long grass, we like short. There's another problem with sharing with other codes.
