Was down at the MCG for the Melbourne game - superb venue all-round.

In terms of the SCG, I am told that the re-development will add 3m at each end, but IMO this is not enough. The length of the ground is the achilles heel of the stadium and it is not being properly addressed.

One of the reasons we are beaten regularly at the SCG is that our quality forward line does not function properly due to the ease of flooding.

You will be better off going to TS to see an open, flowing game.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Well Vlad reckons we'll be able to sort it out easy.

"Demetriou believes that, despite suggestions to the contrary, a compensation agreement - whether it be financial or allowing games to be moved to Telstra Stadium - will be reached between the SCG and the Swans, following recent revelations that from early next year there will be a loss of 11,500 seats at the venue during the construction of a new grandstand.

When asked if it would compensate the Swans, a spokesman for the SCG Trust said at the time: "Why should we?" When asked about allowing the Swans to play extra games at Telstra Stadium, he replied: "We've got a contract."

But Demetriou is confident the issue will be resolved.

"I think commonsense will prevail there," Demetriou said. "They should compensate, that's what has happened on previous occasions, and what we have done at the MCG [which underwent rebuilding before the Commonwealth Games] and so forth.

"When people sit down and go through the mathematics and think about the long term, I think they will come to some sort of arrangement.""

Methinks he understimates the amount of clout the Trust carries in this town. See the unfolding of the Cricket rights deal as a good example of that.

We'll see what happens, I'd love to see more games @ the Olympic Stadium next year.

Sounds lovely. But what happened at the MCG where that ground has been competing for tennants and found it politic to go easy on the clubs, and what happens in Syd where the SCG trust has no such qualms could prove to be two different things.

The quotes I highlighted certainly suggest that latter is still more likely as this point.

It's great that Andy thinks common sense will prevail. But as we know the thing about common sense is that it isn't exactly common.

PH I don't think Wardy was having a go at you. I think she may have been having a dig at someone who reckons the good folk in the MAN are sheep and she probably spelt your name incorrectly by accident.
              Bring it on!
