Exactly. If Roos had have picked Nick, you can bet your last dollar that the cats would have lined him up and taken him out. Then what would that have got us? A finals campaign with no fit and firing Nick Davis, that's what. Possible.
An instrument with only 9 notes! Surely it's easy to play?

That is the point. I can see why he may have been held back for this match and told to run his guts out in the 2's. I suggest that if it had have been any other team than the "desperate" (and those quotation marks are there to highlight a word) cats, Nick would have played today. If he is to be held back again next week then I'm jumping on the "Roos is an arrogant @@@@@ who can't coach" bandwagon.

I dont think anyone seriously believes he cant coach. (relative to most of the other coaches running around anyway. I dont think anyone seriously beleives hes anywhere near the great coaches of history: Matthews, Jeans, Parkin, etc)

But the question of whether he's arrogant is pretty clear 'yes' at the moment.

The question of whether his arrogance is hurting the team is leaning slightly towards "yes" at the moment in my mind, but a flag would put me straight quick enough.

Finally, I think many are seeing holes in this "bloods" masquerade, and feel too much power is given to the leadership group, of which there are some doubtful members.

Yes to virtually all of that.

Just have to say that 112 from 19 rounds is awesome tipping in what's been a difficult year. So we can count on the Cats to lose next week? Tipping-wise, not Swans-wise, that is. BTW... things are not looking good for us when we're relying on Geelong to win.

                  I agree with this completely.

I was talking about the leadership group with my dad and sister-in-law (both Swans supporters) last night. I think it's ridiculous that they can decide who is in and out of the team. Roos is the coach, or at least that's what i thought he was being paid for, so it should be him calling the shots and no-one else.

The great teams and coaches of the past have always been able to manage teams with "BIG" personalities in them, but evidently Roos and this club can't. As a result the club is now starting to suffer for it.

I think it is time that the coach coached, and the leadership team led by example (not by bagging a player for going to the media by bagging him in the media, which legitimises Davis going to the press in the first place.) Creating a leadership team helped us out of a dificult situation last year when Maxfield retired, but that group appears to have now become a schoolyard leadership clique that means if you are out of favour with the clique, then you have no hope of being picked in the team. Regardless of form, which may be why many of our younger palyers are not getting a go in the seniors even when senior players shouldn't be playing due to injury.

I may be wrong in this, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I am somewhere around the right mark.
