And they way we played yesterday it doesn't give me any confidence in finals success.
We have won our last 8 against Carlton and 6 out of 8 against a Lions team that was 4,000 times better than it is currently.

Hardly teams that have nothing to fear from us.................

Having watched Brisbane today, if we can't beat them easily then we're in big trouble come finals.

Totally agree. They were pretty useless.

That's how he used to do it - "yeah nah, but we're just a blue collar side and we were never really going to beat them anyway".

So is it better to say it's not the players' fault they played like fools and they couldn't help it because they're not healthy enough?

Agree. He also avoided criticizing them directly by saying that the ground was too narrow. Oh, please.

Lions & Carlton are 2 teams that you never underestimate - regardless of their standing on the ladder - what have they got to lose??? they can afford to have their players throw themselves at the Swans, do some real damage, injure some of our guys even, knowing full well that they aren't in the finals. its not cut and dried that we will win those so called "winable" matches.

Carlton is the real danger game. If Fevola goes crazy and starts kicking them from 60m, from the impossible angles then we could be in a spot of bother.

Exactly. This time of year the danger is also to focus on what the other teams in contention are doing & forget what we're supposed to be doing (i.e. winning).

I reckon there's a difference there between keeping their feet on the ground and out-and-out bagging them, is there not?

That one is a crock of dung I reckon too, although every other club uses a similar excuse when losing on the too small SCG.
