Probably 22nd or 23rd of September.

My understanding is that over the last couple of years the AFL has adopted a '7 clear days' break before GF' policy, meaning that the 2 PFs are played Friday night or Saturday day. So: one of those two.

I'm almost sure it will be a Friday, because the Freo v Melbourne will be on a Friday and the winner of the other semi (played on Sunday) will want the full 7 day break.

Sydney is playing following Saturday according to the info sent earlier by the Swans administration.

Edit: Ok, Ok, I've fixed it.

We would have been playing next Saturday had we lost tonight. Not anymore

It will be Saturday daytime. Adelaide get Friday night.

If it's Saturday arvo, I might be wrong here but aren't there NRL games held at Telstra Stadium that night? Will they allow them to do a 2 hour turn around? Because I don't think they would, in that case then it'd be at the SCG.

ETA: Whoops my mistake the NRL Preliminary Finals are usually played at Aussie Stadium. But since the Bulldogs won their match tonight they'll definitely play at Telstra since it's their home ground.

WEEK 3 PRELIMINARY FINAL - Alternate Venue

If a game is moved to a non NSW venue, we will be working closely with both teams to ensure that Season Ticket Holders of both teams have access to premium seating.

WEEK 3 - PRELIMINARY FINALS - Aussie Stadium

Week 3 games are provisionally scheduled for Aussie Stadium on Friday night and Telstra Stadium on Saturday night. The venues for these games are also subject to change at the option of the NRL if two non-NSW teams are participating. The NRL will decide which game is played in which Stadium at the completion of the Week 2 matches.

Could mean we play at the SCG then.

I *think* the NRL are going to play the Prelim at Telstra on Sat night...but that isn't confirmed until next weekend, so we might get in first.

Freo / Melb - Friday night

                      West Coast V *** Sat

Surely that gives us the Friday night?

They would want West Coast to have a 7 day break wouldn't they?

Sorry yes - we get Friday night.

                        I was thinking we just played 2nd v 3rd, but we actually played 1st v. 4th.

So we play Friday night and Adelaide play Saturday afternoon.

I'm not too keen on us playing on Friday night, considering we haven't played any Friday night games during the season.

Would be please if the AFL decided to play both games on Saturday (like they used to).
