I'm not sure that anyone told the pregnant woman or the man to do anything. People gave an opinion. No one has the right to tell them what to do, so no one has told them what to do. People have rights to give opinions, and they have done so. If you cannot see that in your haste to rise above the bigotted masses that lie beneath your contempt, perhaps you should slow down a little and have a proper think about things.

I am shocked that Jolly, as a well paid professional, has the audacity to even raise "family first, grand final is irrelevant thing".

When you are still with your wife after 50 years of marriage after doing the husband duties most of the time outside your job,
then you can legitimately claim that you have your wife's interest at heart, not the lustful early years of marriage. Your wife will know that you were the right choice 50 years ago, not your presence at the baby delivery where u can't do anything.

If your wife demands your presence at the delivery room, then you're in for hell of a ride in the many husband-wife years to come! I would feel sorry for u. A considerate wife will ask you to perish the thoughts of abandoning your very important duty to your coach, team, fans, and your football aspiration in this very important final game. You would have a BIG GUILT over u if u are not there & we lose. The betrayel so large that your future with the Swan wiill be unattenable.

You wont be the first excellent husband who was not at the room.

We should be talking on how to combat your opponents.

it's absolutely clear to me what you think jolly should do. i'm just impressed by your ability to once again see all the details of the issue. just as your were with the nick davis saga. does it feel at all like you're invading by being able to magically know all the details of the pregnancy including potential complications that may arise? it must be fascinating to already know whether or not the baby is above, below or around average weight or indeed if the mother is suffering prenatal diabetes or jaundice.

God bless her cotton socks (and the future swannie she carries inside her). She looked very incredibly healthy and glowing in a television interview early this morning. Not too shabby for someone with "maybe or maybe not" only one week to go. She's not actually due to pop until two weeks AFTER the grand final.
Timthefish, you should take most of the crap said here with a grain of salt (OK, maybe a kilo) ... after all, speculation IS our middle name.

A PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLER is someone who is paid to turn up on time, train, keep of the drugs and @@@@, be a role model for general society, and pretty much play a specific role in a specific game. They are compensated quite well to do this one "job". To have him miss the MOST IMPORTANT game of OUR season, in my opinion, is going against the very "bloods" ethos that got us to the grand final in the first place.

When Goldspink called him a doctor, he was joking. What's he gunna do? If there are complications, he gets a phone call and leaves work, like others would have to do in similar circumstances. I am sure she enjoys the money he brings home and the life style that footy gives them both. This is were they lose on the swing what they get on the roundabout (in the probably very unlikely event that she does go into labour Saturday morning).

FWIW I do not recall ever stating that I knew all the Davis details, or all the details here. Like everyone else it was speculation and opinion formed on the information that was being offered. Should the current pregnancy have been complicated thus far I think it would be unlikely that a story would have been made of it. Should it become complicated in the final days then that adds another dimension of course. At this stage I think it is safe to say that all appear healthy. But I think I'll miss work tomorrow and go to school with my kids. One of them is allergic to bees and there is a bit of clover flowering on their oval. Could not live with myself if something happened and I was at work.
