I certainly hope you are right.

I think he should witness the birth, as well as inviting adam goodes and barry hall to witness the birth, oh hell, why not invite the hole team to watch.

I have thought today that the oft used line from Roos that football is not expected to be highest priority at all times would be ringing in their collective ears about now. If he is 'encouraged' (forced) to play, then it was all simply hollow rhetoric and he would likely play like crap anyway, if he is allowed to decide with his family, the impression I got from the article was that if a clash appeared likely, his wife was willing to do what she deemed necessary to accomodate his footy (mention of scheduled C-section) so the fact that they are not pressured to put footy ahead of all else, will result in exactly that happening.
I think we would all agree that if unforeseen complications arose, any of us would personally escort him home, at 1pm Saturday if necessary.
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

I vote no. You wanna start a poll with that question to see if I'm alone or not?

Oh for goodness sake timthefish, get a grip! Can't you see that most of this is firmly TIC?

But for what it's worth, all elective caesarean sections are booked at 38 weeks anyway (2 weeks early), IF mum and bub are healthy. The definition of 'premature' is ... less than 37 completed weeks gestation, so an induction/caesar at 38 weeks is not unusual at all.

But of course it's the Jolly's decision, and not the fanatics of an internet forum!

I know it's been in the press, but I won't believe it until I see Brett Kirk interviewed, saying, "Darren has lost the trust of the leadership group because he had unprotected sex in December/January. He can't have been 'doing it for the bloods' at that time of year. " If that happens I will know it really is true

I don't begrudge him the timing at all; let's be realistic, he is a married man- he has to take it whenever he can get it.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Funny all this fuss about Jolly's wife having a baby and that it may arrive on Grand Final Day because her family have a history of babies being born 2 weeks early when Brett Kirk's wife is expecting twins in mid October and no fuss is going on about this especially when twins very often are born early.
