Bleeding heck, I didn't envisage this kinda response.
I really didn't mean that Jolly cost us the game but he was a major contibutor after having a really great year.
My point simply is simply the principle that players cannot surely think they can take half a million bucks a year on the basis that it is paid SOLELY to get to a GF (and play their best ) and then turn around and so they aint playing 'cause the missus is in the club.
    THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE GARBAGE.
Give back the money, the house, the merc and all the other trimmings that us paying members provide.Am I sitting back saying 'oh,that's alright not to play because the missus is giving birth and we'll lose the GF maybe because of this'?NO,I'm saying i paid a crap load of dough to watch you performers perform SO get on with it or give my money back and stop pandering to the metrosexuals. This is your career, you are paid to play football to the best of your ability.Jolly failed on every count and I would have been happy to play Chambers who would have at least tried.
I note Brett Lee ain't gonna miss a test.....

My only issue with all that Red, is that he did turn up to the game, and though he played poorly, like others, he did play. If he didn't I'd agree with you. But he did.

but we had to endure a week of demoralising wimp talk before he turned up and played like a dry turd.

He's had some ripper games for us. But I keep thinking about Spida. As someone said on here, if we had Everitt, we would have won ont he weekend. There's about a million things that would have won it for us, but jeez he would have helped.

Surely if he was in the right frame of mind, if would have believed that we would have been there on the last sat in sept, so have arrange a more suitable time of birth??.

Total lack of concentration and ability to see the big picture.

And lets face it, his wife could have got a video made of the whole thing.

Then he could have had a choice. Watch the GF winning replay or the birth of his child.

Didn't that happen to Craig McDermott recently?
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

It's not the act of having the baby, it's the preparation.

Other fathers put the grand final first. Jolly didn't.

One week before the GF he didn't know if he was going to play -

Is this the best possible preparation? Did he do everything he could to have play the game of his life? Would a dominate display from the swans No.1 ruckman effected the outcome of the game?
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

No.1? I reckon he'll soon be number two again.

For the record, Greg Chappell did not tour England in 1981 citing family reasons. He also didn't tour Pakistan in 1982 citing the same reasons. This was the captain of our Country. Kim Hughes was thrusted with the captaincy in his absence and we lost both tours. The 1981 Ashes series being a very painful loss in the hands of Ian Botham.

If that was too long ago for you, perhaps more recently you will have noticed Glenn McGrath's absence from the national team due to family circumstances that no-one will begrudge him his non appearance in the team. But I suspect you might be yelling "McGrath, get out there and perform you metrosexual arsehole! You are paid a crap load from a CA contract, so you shall not miss any matches unless you are injured. If you choose to be with your wife, hand back your house, car, baggygreen and get stuffed!"
