Part of this is due to our low I50s. Our midfield is partly responsible for this, as is our game plan, but our ability to get the ball from wing to half forward is also an issue.

    We were 7th for I50s.

In terms of accuracy, we were 8th.

    Goals per game = 6th.

    Disposals / I50 = 1st (ie: most efficient).

    Goals / I50 = 7th.

    Scores / I50 = 8th.

None of it stands out particularly, except that we are more efficient at getting the ball I50 in terms of the number of disposals we have. Part of that is we clearly have the least number of disposals per game as we lock it down so much.

Our forward line is not the best in the competition in terms of its production.
I think we should be looking at someone who can play in the forward line. Chris Tarrant has had 9 seasons now at AFL level. The huge majority of them as Collingwood's major focal point to goal. This season he played 20 games for 36 goals. In fact, over 9 seasons, he has only kicked over 40 goals on two occasions. That is utter rubbish from a guy who attracts such media BS in regard to his ability and AFL rating. His best season only yielded 54 goals. He continually goes missing when needed, misses crucial goals at crucial times and has a huge attitude problem. The "talented" full forward has played 161 games and kicked a "whopping" 299 goals. He is so popular that Collingwood supporters want to chop him up and eat him.

      Well said

Statistics don't lie. He is a bit of a goal funnel for them too - Didak is the only other big goalkicker they have, I think? From FF...that's terrible.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

A major part of Tarrant's game is to play up from half forward to the wings. He runs a lot of kms in a game.

I don't rate Tarrant at all. The boy needs a heart transplant. If we can inject a bit of the Bloods spirit in to him, then maybe we could give him a try, but I don't know if that would be possible.

I have no doubts that Tarrant is talented. But talent only gets you so far. Commitment and hardwork are what make you great and I just don't think he has it in him.
          Go you mighty BLOODBOYS!

I don't have a problem with Tarrant's ability as a player, although I'd be on the side of "No" to this trade.

I wonder if the ability of the swans to turn around "problem children" from other high profile Victorian clubs may have diminished aomewhat. A few years ago no-one down there in the media or generally cared if a previously troubled player succeeded up here, now that we have made two grand finals in a row, winning one, and proved to be a consistent finals force they are more inclined to look for the controversial angles, rather than just regurgitate the clubs marketing and PR releases.
I reckon, had we not one in'05, the Davis saga would have barely rated a mention for more than a day or so, but as reigning premiers and the envy of many other clubs, hacks are more willing to go looking for "trouble in paradise".
I don't know that a guy with a track record like Tarrant has will be able to operate as anonimously as he may have 3-4 years ago in Sydney.
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

Jimmy Olsen ... that was brilliant.
              Thanks heaps for that.
I think you answered all our questions, except for "how long is a piece of string".
I hope you got photos and lots of signatures.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The answer to the piece of string question is coming - just Roos and Kirk have to go to the guru on the mountain to find the answer. And Brett may be delayed on the quest for the answer this week as Hayley told me they don't even know if they are having twin boys or girls "Brett likes surprises".

                  Easy.
