    Jolly ain't a popular boy

According to Danny Weidler in the Sun-Herald Jolly has 'annoyed the club' when he took an early exit after the match and ,apparently, 'he was less than keen to take part in the fan day'.
Weidler questions if this may 'affect his future at the club'.
After a crap performance in the GF,he needs to seriously reflect on his attitudes.No-one questions his devotion to his wife and his support but maybe he is more suited to another career. He can start by giving the Club back his outrageous match payment .
Welcome Spider,we won't expect any metrosexual crap from him.

That makes all the ruck talk more interesting....don't think it will change anything though.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

I don't know exactly what was going on, but his mind didn't seem to be on the job which really frustrated me considering I have witnessed fathers to be where I work manage massive projects, IT roll outs and takeovers while their wife was expecting and still managed to see the birth without their job falling apart.

I guess if we had won by 5 instead of losing by 1 we probably would have ignored it, but it did seem painfully clear that his mind was not at the MCG.

I don't think that experiences in a regular workplace can come close to combining childbirth and the AFL Grand Final.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Combining birth on the Thursday with a Grand Final on the Saturday should be a lot easier than running from work to a birth than back for 8 hours overnight to get a new system in place.

But hey that's just my opinion.

Wonder who wears the pants in the Jolly household. Cant say I blame him for not hanging around.

I suspect the "Cougar" phone call was "what time does your flight get in".

All confirms a scoop I got GF day. Aint tellin though.

I don't think it makes him any less of a man just because he wanted to see the birth of his first child, infact it makes him more of a man IMO. The GF and child birth are both HUGE life choices for a man, and he shouldn't be ridiculed for making whatever decision he felt comfortable with.

Can you blame the guy for not exactly being keen to take part in the fan day a few days after his wife had given birth? I don't have a problem with that at all, neither should anyone at the club.

well... he was professionally negligant by letting family affair interfere with his on-field duties. If he was playing as an amateur, then I would understand. At AFL level, it was unacceptable.

Have you been at the birth of a child?

If I saw someone come back into work straight after the birth of their child I would think they are a @@@@ing idiot.

As a fan, I don't give a rats' about him being there or not at fan functions in that sort of situation - HELL YES go home to be with wife and bub. But I'm still annoyed he wasn't mentally there when it counted. I can understand why, but I don't like it. But it can't be changed now anyway so on with life we all go...

What's happened has happened. But to make sure it doesnt happen again, the club must request that all players PRACTICE BIRTH CONTROL IN DECEMBER AND JANUARY.
