Davo got into lotsa trouble for something like that didn't he??

(OK ... Jump down my throat ... I'm ready for youse!!)
Wow! Don't want to jump down your throat. But do you really think Kirk is a 'show pony'? IMO he's as far from it as you can get.

Kirk = Cressa in rough terms (and only if he continues for a few years)

I think some of you forget, or never saw, how good Kelly really was. Kelly could, and did, change games, with inspriational play many many times.

        Kirk is not close.

You are wrong about Kirk, and your right about Kelly but they are 2 different players.Kirk inspires the team with his words and his hard at the ball approach.Kelly on the other hand inspired the team with his dash through the center but not so much with his words IMO.Kellys disposal let him down at times just like Kirks does but IMO it is to hard to seperate the two. They are both bloody team players and champions.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I dont know how often, or for how long, you saw Kelly play, but Kirk is not in the same league as kelly when it comes to his 'hard at the ball approach'

I am not bagging Kirk but think you have either forgotten or never saw what Kelly was capable of, and did, week in week out.

Concur... Very difficult to seperate the two players.

Both great team players, and both great leaders (Albeit in differing ways)...

At this stage I think Kelly has the wood on Kirk but only just. This conversation may be one that is kept on the shalf for a fe wmore years until Kirk retires, then we can reasonabley compare the pair!

How many Browlow's has Kirk got?

Sorry. Wasn't Kirky once dropped from the team and then bought back in. It wasn't until he did the "Kokoda Trail" thing, that he "found" "inspriation", and than sat down afterwards and had a big long chat with his old pa, blah, blah, blah. It's been well publicised. It's also been well publicised that he pretty much ignored his old pa before he went to Kokoda. It's all bull@@@@ bravado to me. That's just MY OPINION .... which, I think, I'm entitled to. Whether you people agree with me or not, I don't really give a toss!!

On the other hand ... Paul Kelly is a legend of the game ... not of just the club ... of the whole freakin' game.

In reality, Kirky had better start pulling up his socks quickly if he wants to pull himself as far up the AFL ladder as Kells sits.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The bushrats were just a better team on the day is all.

                              Going the Buckley defence?

As you get more strident it sounds like you (and your acolyte) really hate Kirk. Do you?

I'll take this on - as I assume I am the acolyte.

I said in my earlier post I admire his endeavour as a player. What I hate are the forked-tongue types who pose as modest, humble servants of the "bloods" code but then go forth at every opportunity to self-promote.

This started as a post about Kel - so let me ask. Kel played in sides that got flogged mercilessly every week and alongside blokes (Dale Lewis anyone?) with twice the talent but half the application. Did you ever hear Kel go out and kick their balls publicly? No. Nor did Maxfield. Nor does Goodes.

There are ways to promote a club culture. There are ways to promote yourself. Kirk leans to the latter too often.
