It's the difference between like and love for me.

I likewatching Kirky throwing himself mindlessly at the ball and giving his revup speeches. I get the goose bumps when I watch last year's PF with the lads in a tight huddle, Kirky woozy and with his bloody party hat and giving the rev up to the boys in the huddle whilst Baz heads off to give the two fingers to McLaren! I also really liked his 2nd half in our grand final loss.

I loved watching Kelly with admiration for his toughness at the contest, hardness at the ball, his hard running straight thru the pack, his marking, tackling, passing and nailing Plugger on the chest, his goals. He was eye catching. His off-days were rare and he was one of the most consistent players over a significant period not only at the club but in the whole comp.

Kirk will be remembered and honoured as a Captain of the Club and a member of the 2005 Premiership Team.....but the man who sits amongst the Club's and Games greats will be Mr Paul Kelly.

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Back to the original question...IMO "No" at this stage but the book isn't complete. If he does it will not be for equivalent skill or dynamism, but for the same degree of courage, & the other stuff, (like Premiership medal(s)...but I'll be surprised if they add up to enough.

OK Go Swannies ... I'll bite. (sorry pet, should read names more carefully and not put your fine words into other peoples' mouths! Sorry).

QUOTE: However, I could be wrong. I thought Nick's article just before the GF was perfect Swans' spin and it turns out to be unauthorised. Then Baz stating that it was "but it was okay this time" really worried me as it was one of the few cracks in the charade. Last year, we got under the Eagles skin before the GF. This year they seemed to be doing it to us. And so it turned out on game day.

That Baz thing .... got me thinking too. It's become more of a rule of "depends on what you say" rather than the straight-out "what you say", which is what we're all led to believe.
              Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Crack all right.

CONTINUE QUOTE The overall history is fascinating. In very simplistic terms, Capper got the Sydney Swans noticed. Plugger showed that the team wasn't a joke. Kel revealed to Sydney that AFL could have great leaders - just as the Wallabies and League have had. Roos and Maxfield created a winning club culture that got us a premiership. Kirk, the current leader with the least skill but the most passion is the face of an extraordinary period in club history when we can seriously discuss our chances of appearing in Grand Final after Grand Final.

Colless can talk at the dinner this year about how the stage has been set in the past few years for the Swans to be an AFL powerhouse for the next 50 years - and noone laughed. Tell that to Willessee and Dr Geoff.END QUOTE

              Agreed.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Well, the lash is very English.

And "What about me?" indeed - the original not the crap Shannon Noll version. No wonder we traded him to the Kangaroos if he wants to warble like that.

It won't be coming from me, I thought what you said about was pretty well thought out, obviously we don't know everything that goes on inside the club, but these things often aren't what they seem from the outside. And you're right, a hard-working Nick Davis could become a champion of the club.

                        Woohoo, 1000th post.
