RND 1 v Essendon.
Hopes are up. We all remember the Swans last game in Melbourne. Over 45,000 at Telstra to watch we we hope will be a promising year. No Hird.No Kennelly.
Also missing Ball and Bevan. Super Ted and Chambers get their first run in the R&W, while McVeigh rounds off the changes. Things get off to a good start. For them. Lloyd (8 goals) is unstoppable. 9 goals to 2 first qtr sets up an unassailable lead, even with Hall kicking 7 goals at the other end. We were killed out of the centre.

RND 2 v Port Adelaide
Many have made the trip to Sydney to see the unfurling of the first Premiership flag to be unfurled at the SCG. Hopes are up, again. Last week was just a minor hiccup.
Perfect sunny day, 2 goals to MOL in the opening minutes and we are up. However, Port are here to spoil the party. Hall has gone missing. So have the swans. Port lead at every change.

Rnd 3 v Carlton.
The Flag Comes to Melbourne.
0-2 after 2 games. GF Hangover?
After the initial noise with the flag being presented to the crowd, the start of the game is eerily quiet. No crescendo of noise at the first bounce. First goal to the Blues. Can this be the 3rd loss in a row?
MOL gave Saddington a lesson in the first qtr.Hall gave Whitnall the run around and Leo was doing the job of Fev.
Carlton flooded, Sydney chipped, blues fans booed, and sydney fans screamed with frustration.
A dour contest, Carlton came back in the last qtr but were unable to arrest the lead. After being 5 goals in front, Carlton banged on 5 unanswered goals to draw level. Some very poor defensive work let the blues in for some easy goals.
366 (Syd) possessions to 245 (Car) and we can only muster a 7 point victory.
Only 1 Sydney player did not make double figures for disposals. (Chambers = 0).
135 Marks (Sydney) to 60 (Carlton) with Barry hauling in 18 all of which were uncontested.

Rnd 4 v Melbourne.
From one lacklustre affair to another. The hangover looks like it has not worn off. Bring on the Panadol.
The Swans have not come to play again.
Scores are level with 5 minutes to go after a Schneider goal from a 50m penalty. Bruce snaps a goal with 40 secoonds left.Malceski has the chance to make a name for himself, but unfortunately is not up to the task and the Dees hold on for a 5 point win.
EDIT: Forgot to mention Chambers breaks his kick drough with 2! ( I think I missed the first one.)

Rnd 5 and 6
Rnd 5 v Geelong.
1-3 after 4 games. GF Hangover, still? Maybe not. This game they looked a little better, given the hype of a revenge game from a Geelong POV.
A fairly even first term see the Geelong boys up by a goal.
It was a game where the swans never really looked like putting a determined Geelong away. Some late patience from MOL, and brilliance by Hall and some flair/lair from Goodes got us across the line for a two goal TEN win.
A Highlight of the Night was Ottens huge mark over the top of Jolly.

Rnd 6 v Brisbane.
The Gabba used to be a place to fear, but unfortunately for the Lions, that is no longer the case. The Swans lead at every change to win by 32. A swag of players lined up to kick goals, including Dempster and Malceski. Goodes was simply brilliant, Cliff wrote "Many Swans fans are starting to wonder if a player could win a Brownlow as a ruckman, and then win a second Brownlow as a wingman?" in his match report.
We also cracked the ton for the second time in two weeks.
And the AKer slap was introduced for the first time, as Crouch gave Aker a day he'd rather forget.
3-3 and looking better.

Rnd 7 v Richmond.
4 Goals in about 4 minutes. Super Ted on fire. The tigers badly undermanned were just no match.
Hall kicked 5, ROK 4 and MOL and Malceski 3 a piece. Oh and a guy named Willo chip in for a single in his 300th game. LRT kept Richo in control and never got into the game
A super effort, against a very ordinary side. A big %% boost.

Rnd 8 v Bulldogs.
Another terrific effort from the start sa Sydney jump to a 5.2 to 0.0 lead after only 10 mins. But the dogs hit back and hard to get them back into the game. Sydney took control of the game after leading by only 2 goals at 1/2 time. The dogs got a couple of early goals in the last term, a ROK, snuffed any hope that they had.
Hall kicked 5 and Davis kicked 3.
4 tons on the trot, 4 wins on the trot.
5-3 and looking better.
