Goals what are goals? after a good solid start against an out of sorts Port Adelaide, the swans kick 5.14 in the next 3 qtrs, to record a comfortable, but unconvincing win. Hall had the better of Wakelin, Buchanan ran riot in the first half with 20 disposals. O'Keefe also continued on his steady rise to stardom.

Rnd 18 V Essendon

Being the only team to lose to Essendon left a sour taste, but this was one we had to win, not only for revenge but to keep any top 4 aspirations alive. No Lloyd to contend with, but still the dangerous Lucas and Hird, who was coming off a BOG performance the week before. Mr Reliable, Craig Bolton, decided Hird had had enough of the ball that week and didn't need any more this week. Hird barely touched the ball. Jolly was the most dominate player on the ground with 44 hitouts, against Hille, and Hall fired up, or straightened up, with 6 goals, and 2 more to the new boy Grundy who continues to impress, ROK again showed he has taken that next step in a footballers evolution.A comfortable win in the end and we slip quieyly into 4th spot ahed of 4 other teams on the same points, but with a far superior percentage. A loss would've had us in 8th spot.

Not really a big call. The last 4 rounds netted Goodes 10 brownlow votes. That says that he'll at least gain some votes from the Luff Medal. With his nearest chasers 14 votes behind him the lead is insummountable.

Rnd 19 V Melbourne

The Dees were hit hard by injury and both teams were vying for a top 4 spot.Early goals to the Dees were a worrying sign, but Grundy and Hall soon set about making it an even playing field. the 1st half was fairly tight, with the swans just holding the upper hand. It was a game where you were just waiting for the flood gates to open as the Dees desperately clung on. The Gates never opened fully but they did come ajar slightly and Sydney were never in doubt during the last qtr. Goodes again dominant, while others were starting to fire up for the up coming finals.

Rnd 20 V Geelong

Geelong were desparate to stop the rot of recent games at Skilled Stadium, and also get a toe into the final 8.
It was tough and tight and many errors were forced due to the immense pressure. Goodes, Kirk, ROK, and Jolly were amongst the best. Buchanan, came under fire from a Mooney brain explosion. End of Top 4 dreams possibly?

Rnd 21 V Brisbane

Another lacklustre start to the gamem saw the swans lead by a mere point. The swans slowly increase their stanglehold on the game each quarter Until a late flurry of goals in the final term saw them win comfortably.

"Adam Goodes was again in fine touch, especially early, while the hard-working trio of Jude Bolton, Darren Jolly and Ryan O'Keefe all played key roles in the win."

Rnd 22 V Carlton

We knew Carlton weren't serious about getting off the bottom of the ladder when The Big Fev came aout in yellow boots. Unfortunately for the blues he didn't get to put them to good use until late in the game (through a Goodes mistake IIRC) when the result was way out of reach. Actually the game was over by half time. The Blues couldn't manage a major in 2 quarters of football, handing the swans a Spot in the top 4 After the crows defeated Melbourne. Goode was sensational again, and finished with 4 goals.
